Tried and true for a month in Europe with just a school backpack (& do laundry a couple times): 1 cashmere cardigan, 1 scarf, 1 pair of linen pants, 2 pairs of shorts, 2 skirts, 1 pair of lightweight shorts as PJs, 1 dress/maxi skirt, 2 bikinis, 5 tank tops. Packed into ziplock bags that I sit on to compact as I seal them. 1 pair of comfy sandals, 1 pair of tiny lightweight flats. This time I will also take a pair of jewelled Sam Edelman flats. Going to Greece and Turkey in 2 days!

hi Sonia..l notice that most of your travel tip vid's are for short stay trips..what tips do you have for those of us who travel for weeks..?? my travels generally have me away for six weeks max and more than one climate zone...last trip l did summer in Scotland, wow, it was a whole 5*c warmer than winter back home in Melbourne, Aus and then summer in Florida..talk about extremes...the trip in Scotland was a driving holiday in a campervan..that was easy to pack for..leisure pants that doubled as sleepwear in case l got asked in the middle of the night to move the van and a pair of jeans..beauty of being on the move was nobody saw me more than a few minutes in one day so outfits went further but when in the states it was different..lighter weight clothing but changed more often cause l was with a friend..but l could still do with some tips for packing as l am doing another UK/states trip next year..l do do washing when away..l would love to be able to pack it all in a carry on but just cannot see how that can be done...last trip l ended up coming home with two bags in the hold, a carry-on bag, a duffle bag and a knapsack...mind you, l left home with only one hold bag, the duffle packed inside, the knapsack and carry-on..the carry-on was holding changes of cloths in case cause it takes nearly two days of flying/stop overs to get from the southern hemisphere to the northern hemisphere., and wanted to be prepared for lost luggage...l would love to just travel with one hold bag, carry-on and knapsack (in place of a handbag)...

Bringing more tops than bottoms is also a good idea because you typically wear pants a few times before washing

The less I take, the better it seems to be. I try to just take three days' worth of stuff! I stick with basic cotton underwear and UNDERSHIRTS to keep warm in the evenings or for sleeping, and take Marseilles soap, line and clothespins. HANDKERCHIEFS, scarves for protection/health reason, appropriate head covering, and ... as you will address ... GOOD FOOTWEAR. You can't be sure to find new/replacement footwear where you're going, and even if you do, it takes a long time to break in!

You did a vlog on packing toiletrys but what about combing that with make-up? Maybe you already did but I cannot find it and it would be so nice if makeup came in travel sizes. Or if some could be combined together for double purpose. For instance: this is not makeup but an example-I use conditioner as shave cream when traveling so I do not have to carry a shaving can.

I plan on traveling in the near future. About 6 months... Spain, France, Germany, England, Scotland, Ireland, and Canada. Then back to the USA. I plan on traveling with only a small sized carry on bag. I will need to by clothing while away. I plan on mailing extra clothing items back to the states when I am done with them. Do you foresee any problems with this idea? What is the best shipper to use? UPS?

That's a lot of clothes you take! I'm going on some kind of scouting camp for three weeks thsi summer, to Japan, that's litteraly the other side of the world for me. But we have to take a hiking backpack, so I'll take like my uniform skirt, 4 shorts, one jeans, one pair of jogging pants, and at maximum 10 top pieces. That's not a lot, but more won't fit in my backpack!
