I love how this version of Kingdom Valley starts out with clear skies, gets cloudy during Silver’s section, starts to rain in the 3rd section, and then the Mach Speed Section has extreme rain and water walls It’s such a great level progression, ChaosX is a genius

The base game's entire stage was exclusively just cloudy, no rain, no clear skies, the same sky all throughout. Also yes I'm 1 month late but I wanted to answer this regardless lol, the more you know the better 🤠

I like how in this demo Sonic and Silver interact in an in-game engine scene before they go and try to save Elise in Kingdom Valley.

There can be an in-game cutscene in Silver's Kingdom Valley which HOPEFULLY leads to another Blaze section where Silver and Blaze find each other(or one finds the other) and maybe an extra for when they meet up with Sonic which will make us understand how come she's in the next story cutscene

Been following this project for years. The progress made on this is insane. Everything from the better mechanics. Physics and even graphics. Sonic 06 really is gonna be a good game now once it’s fully completed

If they manage to fix the kiss scene (I guess do an in engine cutscene replacing the pre render and have Elise kiss Sonic's foreheard or something), this game would stand fairly high on the good Sonic game's list. :)

Love all the in-game cutscenes added to this. Also I use the gems on the location you find them. (if you restart the stage you keep the gem so that's how I did it) Crisis City was changed a little in a troll spot xD, so I wanted to show that.

Hey, maybe ChaosX can be hired by SEGA to help them fix Sonic Colors Ultimate because somehow by the Grace of God, SEGA managed to break a game that they really were just having to port to other consoles and update the graphics for. It wasn’t really that ambitious for the standards that “remastered” games go for and they still fell short by a couple of light-years.

What's sad is that there are aspects that would have been in the original that the remake cannot replicate. Like better storywriting and cutscenes, the released plot is clearly unfinished.

I like how ChaosX changed the way Sonic and Shadow gets their S rank. Sonic: the traditional get to the goal as fast as you can Shadow: beat up as many enemies as you can while reaching the goal

No it's still just getting 50000 points, nothing changed. You can completely disregard time bonus with sonic on most longer levels if you just make big point chains. In aquatic mine you have so many opportunities to gain a shitload of points the timer doesn't matter really. It's still extremely fun at its core but sa2 still has the better ranks.

These are legit PS4-tier graphics at times. Had this come out on PS3 back in the day, I am sure Maekawa would have had enough time to finish the story. Being technically impressive takes a good amount of time.

At 40:41 it seems Shadow managed to surprise himself when he started running faster than Super Sonic but promptly lost control of that speed and hung back hoping Sonic and Silver didn't notice. XD I'm so glad to see ChaosX is still working on this project and that it's making great process. There's a lot of small teams or solo developers who start remastering a Sonic game and shortly afterwards stop for one reason or another. I love seeing the proof of concepts but I'd love to see a finished product even more. :D

it’s honestly insane to me how these levels actually become decently fun once the character actually becomes fun to move around with and in turn makes the levels flow really well instead of go on forever in the original with terrible controls and broken physics also the fact they actually made shadow really fun to play blows my mind

This just keeps getting better and better every time I see it! One idea I did have though, is potentially for if you finish a level with another character alongside you (Tails in White Acropolis, Knuckles in Flame Core, etc.), you get the duo/trio doing a unique victory pose together, kind of like in, say, _Tekken Tag Tournament 2_ or _Mario & Sonic At The Olympics._ With Knuckles accompanying Sonic for instance, you could have them finish up with them posing like on the _Sonic & Knuckles_ title screen (or the "Fighting Buddies" picture from _Sonic Advance 3,_ for some potential comedy), and with both Tails and Knuckles, you could have them all doing the Team Sonic victory pose from _Sonic Heroes._ Just a thought, but I think it'd be cool to have!

i love that it wasnt better visuals etc like most modders do it kept the original style and it looks more enjoyable too. The transition into the pose when u complete a stage is neat too and kingdom valley being one of my favorite stages it looks well done and makes the change in weather more clear and more beautiful actually gives me chills.

The speed sections in Sonic P-06 like the end of Radical Train and Crisis City is like playing as Movie Sonic with his intense speed. Jesus fuck, you move as fast as driving backwards in Big Rigs: Over the Road Racing. Imagine if they added a blue trail if you went fast enough

One of my favorite additions is that little wind-up animation added to the start of the pole sections, giving you time to adjust.

This looks so much fun! One I get a pc this'll be the first thing I download (along with Sonic World). On another note: This makes me happy, but at the same time sad. Not only because this was probably close to what 06 was meant to be, but also we'll most likely never see an official sonic game as big and ambitious as something like this ever again. I really hope ChaosX finishes this project, because it's amazing.

I love how Sonic doesn't just reappear in a different place and has to catch up with Tails and Knuckles in the White Acropolis and Flame Core. However, I think something similar should be done for Silver's section of Kingdom Valley. Instead of having Sonic seemingly appear somewhere else to take over from Silver, why not have him follow Silver before taking over, just like with Shadow in his Aquatic Base level?

@@sonicovertime That ability that propels you forward by pressing the jump button twice. There are the straight air dash, the curved air dash and the legacy air dash. The latter being the one that looks like Heroes!

oh man, i just love how they made this game. I cant wait for them to complete it fully. In any case, can i find a list of the exact changes they made to this game? for instance characters, gameplay and all that

The final test stage where you see all the 3 hedgehogs together, would be awesome if chaos made an original level with all of them together, and there will be a setpiece where you see all of them running together from a front view, that would be insane.
