Idk if anyone noticed this detail too, but when Sonic was drowning, as he was getting desperate, you can hear a little bit of the drowning song. Though it's small and unnoticeable, but I thought it was pretty cool.

Seeing the studio take such care of the the Sonic universe and lore gives me such joy. I can't even describe the pure happiness I had watching this movie. Playing the original Sonic games as a kid and especially Sonic adventure 2 on the gamecube. This movie is pure nostalgia. I think I was more of a kid watching this movie then my own children. Idc what anyone says . This movie tops no way home for me.

True no way home had big standards and didn't reach all the way but sonic movie 2 its amazing and all the characters have a good amount of screen time unlike no way home

You missed a few good ones: When sonic falls over the boat, he flails like his drowning animation in the Genesis games. In the underground labyrinth the walls mimic the checkerboard of the grounds in the games.

That avalanch scene could also have been a reference to part of a zone in SA1 in which the player has to navigate Sonic as he's snowboarding away from an avalanch.

Weird choice to connect Sonic Adventure 2 to the snowboard scene and not Sonic Adventure 1 which literally has a snowboard scene escaping an avalanche.

I saw it as a reference to both, he takes a broken piece of metal as a board, like in SA 2. but he is using it to escape an avalanche and eggman

I predicted that Shadow was going to be in the credits though not the way I thought. I thought he and Rouge were to come out of a portal saying the emeralds are here on Earth after 50 years we have been searching for these.

actually i would’ve liked this a lot more because of jim carey’s situation. the way they’re setting up shadow you need dr.eggman so i’m really confused on what they’re gonna do next and how they’re gonna explain everything

They most likely chose that scene cause it's an exact remake of the scene from sonic x. Which hints that they'll follow that storyline. Weird that they didn't mention any of that in the video though.

My question is: Will Jim Carry be brought back for a 3rd installment? With him recently entering retirement and saying "I've done enough". I'm not totally sure he comes back for a Sonic 3. And rightly so, the mans had a long storied carrer in Holywood. So then is Robotnik neccessary for a 3rd movie? If so, I'd like to see Professor Generald Robotkik in some way shape or form introduced with Shadow. I'd also go for broke with 3 as the last and NOT make anymore instalments after it. Bring in Sally, Amy, and Vanilla and maybe Rogue on the female side.

I seen him say he was retiring and I won't lie it actually got to me a little bit. I was born in 85 so I grew up with Jim Carrey and it breaks my heart to think he is done. I'm being selfish but of course if he is truly done I would be so happy for him and he would deserve retirement.

Okay so I might be reaching,but I'm going to say it because no one has mentioned it, but the hologram of sonic that does the idle pose looks similar to how the creepypasta "Sonic .exe" is depicted in illustrations. Perhaps this is a nod to that in the same way "sanic" was referenced in the first film.

Jim Carrey actually mentions "The Secret" in this film. Also, correction: Green Hills is NOT a reference to the OG Green Hill Zone, but Green Hills from Sonic the Hedgehog 2 8-bit (Master System/Game Gear).

There were 2 Easter eggs you didn’t mention: the moment when the barista was looking at holograms of Dr. Robotnik and shows one more video game accurate (you know, the one with the belly) & the scene where the three heroes line up like they would in Sonic Heroes

One thing I noticed about the Super Sonic in this movie. Is it looks a lot like the version of Super Sonic in Sonic Unleashed. That Aura of fire, just how angry he looks, how bright the glow is. Just reminded me a lot of that games super
