This has the most unique instruments in the Genesis series if you ask me. The meowing melody and the "vroom" every 4th measure. Very one-of-a-kind!

As a kid, when I first played the stage and heard its music it transported me into another world. No other Sonic stage is as mysterious and liminal as this one. The bit at 0:43 is so melancholic

***** composer who worked for CUBE (credited in game, but not Takaoka specifically) she's also known for doing most of the music to Terranigma and alot of the Atelier series. oh and BTW, she has since clarified in saying that none of the bonus themes are her's and that her theme must have went unused.

This has to be the best, most catchiest track thats ever been in a Sonic game. Ever since the first time I've heard it.. it's managed to beat out Mushroom Hill as my all-time favorite Sonic music. I can't put it into words easily it's just.. very catchy and reminds me of the 90's and Michael Jackson, and that sort of stuff.

I do love this track, but my enjoyment of it is mixed with a tinge of melancholy. It's as if the tune is saying 'Say goodbye to you're childhood, fucker. Enjoy old age and dying!' Doesn't stop me listening to it every once in a while though.

I just realize it's really amazing how much I have linked the memory about these levels with their music. Sonic 3 was my favorite game in the 90s and I always get nostalgic when I hear this again:) better than any modern sonic game imo, and as far as I can tell also better than sonic generations which will be good but I still don't feel it again if you know what I mean
