here is an updated version of this mod!
As in my previous Video, i changed the music and used the good future theme from a different channel, link is aswell in the description! :D

Wow. Is that what the R2 level looks like as a stage mode, for sonic cd pc port? It is mind blown! It’s called “dubious depths”.

I think in the US it would be called relic ruin, in JPN it would be debius depths

@desigualdade_igual Yep. The Relic Ruins version is in the US, and Dubious Depths is in japan. I watched a Sonic Hacking Contest video with a restored R2 level mod this year. The ancient ruins theme level looks beautiful and modernized!

Fun fact: Sonic CD was originally going to be a Sega CD port of the original Sonic the Hedgehog, until it was decided to be a separate project.

I hope in the future this will restore the unused enemies and boss that Tee Lopez found when working on the iOS port of CD, also this zone should come after Palmtree Panic instead be a hidden Sound Test Stage.

In fact this is not real r2 music, and were not know how this zone originally called. Were have well known D.A garden theme, which was originally be r2 present. And we have very low known bad future version and your recreation - is beautiful, but level design isnt good at all. But i glad that someone finally recreated it, i didnt has engouh drawning skills.

Ik ik, thank u for ur comment, I'm fully aware that the D.A Garden is the supposed theme and the level desinge isn't thaaaaat good but it's just a mod and i replaced the music with his fan made known theme :)

@@xXsonicXx i know that this just a mod, but level design looks like - its made in classic sonic simulator. By 10 years old. But i know that you can do better, i hope next update will got good level design. If it did, this will be my favourite mod.

This couldn't have aged more poorly. We now know from a tweet by Naoto Oshima himself that this zone was going to be called "Dubious Depths."

Alexy angelfox know a lot about r2 maybe you can inspire in his concepts to create the v3 or something. Your mod is perfect, I've never seen anyone do the same on sonic cd and it would be really cool if you look at his concepts

It’s really nice to here the Mysterious R2 level’s name has finally been revealed. I wished the good future in this mod had the water flow animations. It would be nice if R2 was in sonic mania

For us, R2 will always be mysterious. I don't understand why the dazzle desert level was added to Sonic CD. It cannot be found on a small planet. When I found out that the levels are denoted by the symbol R(your number is from 1 to 8), I wondered why there was no R2. Thanks to these mods, I love Sonic CD, it makes him mysterious. I want to ask a question: - Will the level be included in the main luget of Sonic CD? - Will the mod work in Sonic CD Restored?

Yeah i dont know how a desert level was supposed to be in Sonic CD, even tho there is no desert desinge in little planet, R2 is sadly never gonna be a feature in Sonic CD, because the devs told us that its a scrapped zone and maybe there is a decombed modded version too but im not sure but definitely for the steam version if u already purchased it.

how do you apply this mod to CD now? sonic cd was taken off of steam in replacement of sonic origins... wait... DO I NEED TO BUY ORIGINS???

I'm sorry but this is the steam version and yeah ik it got taken down bc of sonic origins, it maybe doesn't work with the Origins one but you could try it out and yes you need to buy it then if u didn't already purchase Sonic CD from steam before, i don't own origins bc i already have sonic 3 A.I.R, Sonic 1/2 and CD :)

Might need more decorations, plus the tiles and background should be kind of reworked to have more details to match Sonic CD Style levels, plus please use at least use one of the official names for the zone, Dubious Depths or at least Ridicule Root if you want to keep DDZ for Desert Dazzle. If you want I could try to help resprite the tiles and background to make the zone more unique looking from other zones in CD and the Classic games in general, just would need something to see each other on and send files on.
