I'm speaking for Capathia808 because they won't say: STOP ASKING FOR THE PRESENT AND FUTURE! Only the Past songs can be deconstruced as they are stored in a channel-based format while the Present and Future songs are stored in as can be best approximated by modern formats: Wav (Apparently) Wav stores a Waveform which media players can then play back, these files can get quite large which is why I said MP3.

Channel 0 is my favourite. It has the funky plucky bits, saxophone, swipey noises, piano and the iconic Hues. Also the Mega CD's bass sounds completely different to the the normal Mega Drive bass, but it suits the past more. Great song anways, nice to see it deconstructed.

@@andytheezboy2903 I can def agree with what you have listed for the good and bad future. I dont get house out of this theme because the bounce just ain't right for it. I get the jazz and hip-hop influences but that basically describes what NJS was built off ( in addition to R&B). And when I said present is house with NJS elements I meant like as far as instrumentation yes I get heavy NJS vibes, but because of the way the percussion was set up, its house. Or hip-house even (Which I didnt know was a thing for a while lol).

Here’s a little FYI for those who want carpathia808 to deconstruct the present, bad, and good future themes from Sonic CD: The past themes are stored in a channel-based format where as the present, bad, and good future themes are stored in as the can be best approximated modern formats: mp3. Fun Fact: It’s the reason the past themes don’t change in the US soundtrack and it’s also why the other songs don’t loop properly in-game.

Well, one instrument less. I didn't know what drum machine was used, but I was always sure that the composers had used the Korg M1 and the Roland D-50 (and/or maybe the SC-55) to compose the music of this game. I remember that there was a forum around 2009 where some people were debating about which synthesizers and drum machines were used to compose this soundtrack. Sadly, that forum is dead so i've never managed to know the identity of the instruments used in this OST. It's nice to know now what drum machine was used in this theme.

После этого хотелось бы увидеть достопримечательности в Мексике, Бразилии, Никарагуа и ещё некоторых стран) "Marble Garden" (Когда были подъёмы и спуски, в общем холмики, от которых я иногда подскакивал😅) "Door into Summer"(Knuckles' Chaotix) (Когда я только приехал к автобусу в Москву) "Go, go, Robo" (Sonic Mania - Vs Heavy Egg-robo) (представлял битву и погоню от Эгг-робо) "Metall-Sonic Boss" (Sonic Mania) (просто эпик на разветвлениях на дороге) "Chemical Plant Zone" (Когда были мосты над дорогой и всё это ближайшее время, до тех пор пока не наскучило 5-10 минут) "Level" (Shinobi - SEGA Master System) (Это подходило для одной местности, под Москвой) "Emerald Hill" (Для двух игроков) (Когда были чистые, свежие, зелёные поля!)

I always wondered why the piano sounded out of tune in this track. It's because of the bass on Channel 1; the rest of the instruments are perfectly in tune!

I wish Sonic CD had an option where you could play through only past / present/ GF or BF zones exclusively
@Stewwit
@Stewwit Жыл бұрын
And sonic would change too, Past: a deeper blue colored sonic with more scruffy quills and green tips on the quills. Sporting homemade cloth shoes. Present is just normal sonic. BF: cyborg sonic and not metal sonic because then metal sonic wouldn't appear. Or you are metal and you are the boss fight against sonic. GF: a more pastel and bright and colorful sonic with bright red shoes, now with the modern golden buckle on the side of the shoe, and maybe some shades resting on his head, because it's the good future, what's there to worry about?
