I know one thing, man. Sonic Frontiers combat is so fucking satisfying.

I like how fans can always modify and improve some aspect of a game, this faster and more dynamic style of combat is really cool, but I think one of the things that makes me find Frontiers' base combat a bit basic is that we only have an attack button and we don't have many normal combos so the repertoire becomes very limited very quickly, I hope they fix this in the next game

Yes that’s what I noticed from all these Combat Mods that no matter how hard they try they still devolve into Button Mashing the same little Cutscene attacks.

@@Terminal_Apotos So I think it would be better to combine the wide and diverse combat of Unleashed (with one button for light attacks and another for heavy attacks) and combine it with the fast combat of Frontiers, almost like a Bayonetta game for example, maybe even adding some elements from other RPGs such as you accumulate EXP until the character levels up and thus increase status and gain bonuses such as critical hit chances, new normal combos when increasing the attack, more shield when increasing defense, more speed, improved Boost and even something similar to Witch Time when increasing speed and etc. in addition to each Level Up the player would gain Skill points for spending in the Skill Tree, I think this would help to improve a lot and could even add more things such as a style system similar to Yakuza/Like A Dragon for different actions and mechanics in battle (and could even refer to combat and skills from previous games) equipment and etc to make it even more versatile

@@luizmiguel5484 Totally agree. When I played Metal Gear Rising I immediately wished Frontiers had Combat like that where it’s simple enough for kids but also has enough depth for people who want something more engaging.

@@Terminal_Apotos yeah! me too! I always liked combat in games and that's why I liked training combos with the Werehog and in Sonic Battle and Sonic the Fighters and I would love to see some moves and ideas back like the QTEs, imagine how cool it would be to have different quality animations in the middle of the fight like the one where the Werehog spins the Eggpawn, but instead of a barrage of punches, Sonic throws a series of kicks like Sanji, that would be really cool!

@@luizmiguel5484 Totally. Kishsimoto did say they had originally wanted a Combat System like DMC or Bayonetta but scrapped it cause it was “too hard” 😭 Maybe next game

Now this, ladies and gentlemen, is what the combat for the next future Sonic game should be. I've never played "Devil May Cry (DMC)," just watched gameplay. But I really want the combat be more like DMC. This mod is like DMC. I do think they should have more ground combos, not so much on air combos. And have a 1 second duration of holding the parry. And I also want the music to have transition in tone and atmosphere. For example: when you enter combat, the calm music of pianos and strings suddenly have drums and electric guitars kicking in.

I wish cylooping didn't reset your momentum to be honest. It's really clunky in the middle of combat when I'm trying to cyloop the entire group instead of quick-cylooping one at a time. It just opens you up to be attacked, and boosting is incredibly difficult to steer for me.

cylooping doesn’t reset your momentum, and you can change how the steering handles in the options

Seems to still have that issue where you’re mostly cycling through the same 4-5 cutscene moves with no real thought or pushback from the enemy.

I could be mixing up mods, but I think used an earlier version of this mod and I the main difficulty came from managing the Phantom Rush bar. Different moves interacted with the meter in different ways and keeping PR was the only way to do good damage. The enemy design was still wasn't great tho
