Everybody got good character development, and I didn’t really think how Eggman will change until now

Dr. Robotnik and Sage are probably my favorite dynamic and character growth out of the entire game. And in the post credit clip, I don't think Dr. Eggman is necessary recompiling Sage, but in fact trying to piece her back together from within the backups of cyberspace, or simply just finding it form within the backups, albeit taking quite a while as he has to learn how to actually use the Ancient's technology.

Eggman and Sage have such an interesting and refreshing dynamic! Honestly it kind of reminded me of Belle in the IDW comics (Spoilers for the comics) It’s interesting that there as well Eggman created a being he could consider a daughter while he was Mr. Tinker. Belle herself even refers to Mr. Tinker as “my father”. Although interestingly, Belle seems to have a full range of emotions and understanding of things like love and family from the get go, as opposed to Sage who needed to learn these things from observation. Perhaps it had to do with their creator’s alignment at the time. I wonder if Eggman’s interactions with Belle will change in the comics after this, since apparently IDW is canon to the games (with the Tangle mention).

Honestly, they don't have to change Eggman's MO much at all in the future. Before, he was trying to conquer the world for that ego and potentially inferiority complex for being compared to Maria. Now, he'll do it to make his little girl proud. He'll build Eggman Land and let Sage run it.

Eggman, Sage, Metal, and the rest of the family goes on vacation: Sonic steals their spot on the beach right before they get settled: “You’re too slow. Sage: “Leave. Immediately.”

So many strong lines in this game. Yet none hit me harder than Eggman's final lines... "Go. Fulfill your... Function. [...] Be careful, dear daughter."

I hope that Because of Sage that Eggman treats Orbot and Cubot better.

Great breakdown on Sage and Eggman's journey through the story of Frontiers. Good job man! My one issue with their story in the game is I feel the Egg memos should have been integrated into the cutscenes in this story. Would have hit all players a lot harder than just those who took the time to unlock them in Big fishing. I'm hoping we see improvements in the DLC story or next game though!

The story of Sonic Frontiers in a nutshell Eggman became a dad and has a sassy AI daughter. I think my fave egg memo from the game is the one where, he tries to assert Sage as an AI, but then only moments later is wondering what her preferred pronoun is. Can't wait to see Snapcube's version of Sage might as well be anime abridged

Would be cool if Eggman expanded his robot lackies as lethal robot partners similiar to Metal Sonic, a lethal and Dangerous Orb/Cube bot.

what are your thoughts on sage being brought back in the next game due to the post-credits scene? do you think it hinders or heightens the ending of frontiers?

Once I saw a video that showed that dr eggman is the most favorite character in the franchise. His funny,brilliant,cunning and above all. He is the Eggman. But sage will hold a very special part in him

Sage is by far the most interesting newcomer to the Sonic series and it’s crazy because as you explained in the video, we now see Dr. Eggman in a way we haven’t really seen him before. This makes me think that Dr. Eggman will take a bit more a back seat as the main villain (he’ll most likely still try to give Sonic a hard time l, but I think over time Eggman will just stop being evil and start using his genius and love for his family for other purposes). Even so, with Frontiers DLC 3 supposedly changing the story instead of adding to the story, it seems like we might have a chance of getting deeper moments with Eggman and Sage. In the last few acts of the game, Eggman already sees Sage as his daughter and genuinely cares about her. So imagine finally finding someone you can care about only for that person to risk their life to defeat the literal end of all things. It would break Eggman as we see in the ending of Frontiers, so with this new story I think we’ll see more of Eggman’s worries for Sage considering that they’re in the presence of The End. And if she ever comes back in a future game or comic, it would be interesting to see her work together with someone like Metal Sonic and maybe even fuse with him or something. I feel like Sage and Metal Sonic together would not only show a great challenge to Sonic, but they would show a very interesting sibling relationship. I can’t wait to see more of Eggman, Sage, and hopefully Metal Sonic too in the future.

I believe eggman and sage are going to be the villains in the dlc (at least in some capacity) instead of what happened in the base game with the end. even in the idw comics he eventually messes up or becomes bad again if he turns good (prime ex. mr tinker and then right after he turns bad again, starts a full on zombie invasion that almost kills sonic, everyone around him, and in turn if he would've succeeded potentially himself). ian flynn the same writer who wrote that arc in the idw comics penned the story in frontiers and is penning the dlc (obviously along with a few other people but still mostly him). He has a podcast where he talks about sonic stuff when answering questions and in one of them he was asked how eggman and sage would evolve character wise in the dlc if they were good now and in response he vehemently asked "what makes you think eggman and sage are good now?" and the rest I'm going to paraphrase because I can't remember off the top of my head: "If anything, losing Sage due to Sonic's actions would make him more angry that he entrusted her life with sonic than not and in turn result in him conjuring up an even more evil scheme to beat sonic." There is foreshadowing in frontiers to suggest this throughout the entire game and especially at the epilogue which is similar to something you talked about with the spiderman thing but for eggman. So, maybe eggman's rage will cloud his thoughts and judgement in the dlc. Also he hinted at the symbol that sometimes appears in the sky and in the first promotional teaser being explained through the dlc on the podcast too which may have something to do with eggman after all instead of just being directly tied to the kocos and the ancients like in the base game.

I believe that Dr. Eggman has an obsession over creating robots because of how easy it is for him to have control over their program and build them as he sees fit. This may be due to how he had no sense of control of his life since he lived with his grandfather on the ark and made no mention of his parents' whereabouts. He believes that free will is the issue that makes life disastrous and has made it his ambition to eradicate it.
