This is how I’d like to see a Sonic Cartoon. One where you can put the Sonic characters in almost any situation and just have the characters be their characters. A bit action is always nice to see too. Also the Jokes here work because all of the characters stay in character. No one’s personality is flanderize for the sake of a Joke. Also this animation makes me moist. You out done yourself yet again.

These are the kind of sonic stories I love: the ones where the characters are being themselves.

"Oh! We're just gonna harass the fish, exhaust it, and then just put it back." This is the kind of Tails writing I love, dripping with sarcasm.

Sonic's little "ow" at his fire preparation stunt going wrong had me giggling madly.

I love how Eggman is written almost like a combination of boom eggman and AOSTH eggman.

I love how Eggman’s own paranoia of Sonic caused him to make Sonic aware of his presence in the forest. If he hadn’t sent that giant fish-bot, sonic would not know he was there

Loved how competitive Sonic is here when they were fishing. He was getting jealous of Tails catching fish while he caught none and then uses his chili dog to catch one.😅 There should not only be more cartoon series like this, but also a full length animated movie (not counting OVA) where they have more personality like this.

We just simply do not get good writing like this come main stream. This totally feels original...heartfelt and just plain thought out properly. All the Easter eggs you could want and then some. This was worth the wait. In this 18-minute animation, we got adventure, humor, and excitement. You two did an amazing job with the voice acting, and the animation was plentiful and colorful to watch. Also, that credits ending; was that foreshadowing another Christmas video? Anyway, you did an awesome job, but don’t hesitate to rest if you need to, although your determination helped you through. This is fantastic. You can clearly see all the love and care put into this project and it turned out for the best. This teleported me back to a time when the characters were characters and it's incredibly impressive it's from a fan. Thank you for this Steve, it's the best Sonic content of the year.

Balena, this is the best 3d animation about Sonic and Tails i’ve seen so far! That was an awesome story, sweet, fun and full of action! i love also the brotherhood with Sonic and Tails and i especially loved that fishing moment and their fight with the bear robot! Dude, your animation style is seriously top notch. It's feels so natural and you know how to manipulate the models to give them so much life. Ironically, the stiffness at 17:03 is one of my favorite parts because you go from this super animated Sonic to this stiff and shocked Sonic which looks flawless. Keep up the great work man! Is is strange that this is nostalgic for me? As a fan of many years, this feels so similar to the old "Balena" style of videos (Sonic in Jaws, Scared Stupid, and oddly even some of Sonic Zombies)... not to mention that it's GREAT! Everything just worked out great in this. The original music, and the video and general, had plenty of touches and references, while keeping the cinematic feel, that made me smile and laugh many many times... so great job with the music composition! Also, I've never seen Robotnik animated with such emotion before. The characters look and act genuine, something that the games just struggle with. Overall, this was such a fun video, made by such a fun creator. Support Balenaproductions on Patreon so he can continue making fun videos like this!

Incredible work on this, Steve! It’s really apparent that you poured your heart into this, and it really paid off! The animation was stellar, the expressions and mannerisms felt true to the characters while also remaining comedic, and overall it was just a damn fun watch. This is definitely my favorite animation you’ve put out! P.S. Love the references to your work and other games. Eggman outrunning Sonic and Tails was completely unexpected, and made me burst out in laughter! And hearing Eggman’s mother’s “muh!” was a nice nod to your Christmas specials.

this..... THIS is the direction that sonic team needs to go with in story telling. Simple yet expressive. The jokes landed absolutely perfectly and I was super immersed into the short film (the quickest 18 minutes of my life lol). Even though jason griffin's sonic unleased performance is amazing and probably won't be topped anytime soon, ur sonic voice is offically my second favorite out of em all!!! I am grateful for the blood sweat and tears that you put into this man and I'm proud to say that I've been a fan of you for years. From the bottom of my heart...
