No, it's too early. Save Knuckles for the third sequel, just like in the Genesis games. Plus the Echidna tribe were extinct by the wrath of Chaos from Sonic Adventure so there's no way Sonic could meet them in 2 & 3. In Sonic 2, it's all about Tails' origin and his bonding with Sonic and if Knuckles was there in the entire movie, he'd steal Tails' spotlight, it just wouldn't work well at all. Knuckles can appear in the end, setting up Sonic 3 & Knuckles beautifully. Sonic and Tails battling Dr. Eggman, Metal Sonic and even Battle Kukku Empire from the Sonic 1 prequel Tails Adventure would make much more sense. Keep it simple, don't stray away from the source material. Years later she finds baby Tails who she raised like she with Sonic. Longclaw explain to Tails about Sonic while she teaches him about the Rings. She would send Tails on a mission to find Sonic. When Tails does find Sonic, the fox warns that Eggman has formed an alliance with Battle Kukku Empire, kidnapping animals and putting them into robots. Sonic and Tails team up to rescue the animals. However, Eggman has a few tricks up his sleeve. Not only Sonic and Tails has to battle the Kukkus Metal Sonic, they have to stop Eggman hunting for the mysterious Chaos Emeralds. In Sonic 3 & Knuckles: It turns out that the echidna who shot Longclaw was Pachacamac. He, Tikal and the entire Echidna tribe were killed by Chaos. But young Knuckles survived, becoming guardian of the Master Emerald. Years later, Eggman meets Knuckles, tricking him that Sonic has stolen the Chaos Emeralds and is now after the Master Emerald. After learning about the significance of the Chaos Emeralds from Longclaw who eventually dies of old age, Sonic and Tails go on an adventure to discover the Emeralds' mysterious past, only to get ambushed by Knuckles who caught the Emeralds and escaped. Sonic and Tails chase after him. Sonic, Tails and Knuckles fight, but they soon learn Eggman has unleashed a deadly trap and the heroes must stop him. In Sonic 4: Sonic gets captured by Eggman. Imprisoned in Eggmans deadly labyrinth, Sonic discovers that his childhood friends Mighty and Ray are also held captive. They worked together to escape. Meanwhile Tails frantically searches for his friend stumbled across Vector, Espio and Charmy who are desperate for actual case and begged Tails to let them find his missing person, Sonic. Tails relents with on the condition that he helps too. Tails, Knuckles and the Chaotix team up to find Sonic. In the ending, Knuckles, Mighty and Ray join Team Chaotix as honorary members. In Sonic 5: Mighty and Ray would tell Amy about their adventures with their friends Sonic, Tails, Knuckles and The Chaotix. Excited, Amy searches everywhere for Sonic. Throughout her journey, Amy befriends Cream and her pet Chao Cheese. Cream persuaded reluctant Amy to help her and Big find Froggy. The trio finally meet Sonic and friends. The gang learn Eggman has created a theme park where they meet Honey, Fang, Bean and Bark who work there. They investigate the park where they meet the Chaotix who Cream had asked nicely to find Froggy for Big. The group soon discover the park's dark secret... Tell me what you of this idea for a sequel. Tails teams up with Sonic while Robotnik learns about the Chaos Emeralds and comes across Knuckles; tricking him into thinking Sonic is the enemy. Sonic and Tails travel to different worlds, possibly meeting Amy while searching for the Emeralds. They constantly get into heated scruffs with Knuckles until he comes to his senses. Robotnik, now embracing the full persona of Eggman, takes his revenge with his latest scheme, attacking earth with a badnik army/fleet. Sonic, Tails and Knuckles and Amy all come together to fight back, but eventually Eggman unleashes his secret weapon: Metal Sonic. Who is powered by Sonic's quill energy or the Emeralds. After all seems lost, Sonic taps into the power the Emeralds and becomes Super Sonic to defeat Metal. Eggman goes into hiding, but with his threat still looming the government creates G.U.N. to keep track of him and Sonic and company. The film ends with Eggman learning of the plans to a super weapon that his grandfather created...

I really don't understand this fetish that some people have with cramming way too much in one movie...its like they forgot the cluster-F movies like X3 - The Last Stand when they tried to cram to much of the lore into one movie! Its one of the most hated X-Men movies ever made, critically the worst, and still looked down on for what they did to this day! Like spread it out, give people a taste that will make them come back for the next chapter! don't kill sequel potential by doing to much at one time.

Knuckles should appear at the end of 2nd movie. If the studio has respect for the blue hedgehog they need to stay faithful to the games in order. Knuckles appearing the sequel would be way too much and too early. I agree Metal Sonic could be the big bad for the sequel as Robotnik has Sonic's quill and could easily make a robot in his image and put it into Metals body and boom Metal Sonic for Sonic Movie 2! I hope Tails and Sonic have chemistry too in the sequel or if they knew each other as kids in Green Hill.

In the Knuckles debut game, though, Knuckles was only forced to be an antagonist. I hope Jim Carrey will still be the main antagonist and we get introduced to other characters like Shadow, Amy and also stuff like the Chaos Emerald. Nice update vid! But there’s one thing your forgetting when bringing up knuckles, the master emerald(a giant chaos emerald that knuckles is the guardian of.) in the games knuckles isn’t just fooled to be a bad guy just to be on Eggman’s side. Eggman in the games goes after the master emerald to take over the world convincing knuckles that sonic is the one trying to steal it, basically stabbing knuckles in the back last minute. In these cases Eggman usually creates metal Sonics of all kind and different names such as Silver sonic or Mecha sonic etc., for when he turns on knuckles back. That would be one way for knuckles to become a good guy, because the echidna tribe went Extinct making knuckles the only one of his kind (basic game lore lol.) I feel like that is what they should do when introducing the arc for knuckles in the new movie.

I think since Sonic CD and Sonic 2 were both developed as sequels to the original StH, I think it would be cool if the story for this movie was an amalgamation of the two. I think that it would be cool if Eggman has found a chaos emerald (red one to work with the production company) and has used it to take over Little Planet, which can be turned into Tails’ homeworld. Tails manages to escape, and hears Robotnik speaking about Sonic, and so Tails tries to find him. He appears on earth, and tries to get Sonic come help him. Sonic is scared to leave home, because he hasn’t been able to have a home like this for years, but eventually decides to go with Tails, so long as he promises to bring him back home when it’s done. So they go on a pseudo road trip between sonic and tails to build up their dynamic and to free some of Little Planet (maybe an Amy cameo?). Eggman hears, and unleashes his secret weapon: Metal Sonic, powered using Sonic’s quill. He fucks them up, and they have to learn how to fight better in harmony to defeat him. Final battle, they finally beat him, and try to defeat eggman in the same way as the first movie (though now with a different vehicle), but as soon as he’s about to fall through the ring, he grabs Sonic and Tails and drags them into the ring with him. Now, they’re on Sonics home planet, setting up Knuckles for the sequel.

@@3CFilms yeah but I think it’s more important to establish a dynamic between tails and sonic before bringing knuckles into the mix. also, I think it works to focus more on Eggman than knuckles, especially since we haven’t seen the chaos emeralds next. Just jumping back into the other worlds alone is gonna be jarring for general audiences, without considering angel island and knuckles’ backstory and stuff

It's my theory that the ecidnas didn't attack Sonic simply because they wanted his power. I think there was actually a bigger villain working from the very start who knew that Sonic would threaten them later down the line, so they manipulated the ecidnas into attacking. A few villains from the games pop to mind, but my money's on Mephillies from Sonic '06. He could've convinved the tribe that Sonic's power could threaten them, kinda like the theory about the tapestry from Sonic 2.

Thinking about Tails Paramount isn’t a stranger to hiring everyday small time voice actors for their movies, just look at Optimus Prime in the Transformers movies, Peter Cullen has voiced him in every single live action movie and more then likely will again in the ones coming soon.
