Do you think removing the homing attack for Classic Sonic is possible as a mod? He starts the game without it, so maybe it's possible to revert him back to this state?

Classic Sonic gains the homing attack when unlocking Emerald Coast. Literally every other stage past Mushroom Hill is impossible to complete without the homing attack for Classic Sonic unfortunately and you can’t turn it off

@@Sonic_Beyond They are not impossible, as there's always the lower routes, and there's also the usage of badnik bouncing. I prefer not to use the HA with Classic as it really doesn't suit him, but in order to properly do a badnik bounce, you have to be holding the jump button as you bounce on the enemy. This is hard to do because if you weren't already holding the button, you can't really do it after jumping because Classic Sonic will instead do an air dash. This is why I ask if you think it'd be possible, in theory, to revert Classic Sonic back to not having the HA with a mod. It'd really help do badnik bouncing a whole lot easier. If it's not possible, I'd understand too.

On the gb page, it only gives the textures, so it might require tinkering to make it work on real hardware or even an emulator

Citra (which is a 3DS emulator) has a section for custom textures so I decided to make my own. All you do is place these textures in that folder for the game
