People aren't upset because of Sonic's fur, people are upset because of his overall body silhouette. Sonic looks far too muscular, thick, has knees, his eyes became separated, lost his trademark shoes and gloves, these are the complaints going around. Don't go on around spreading misinformation.

This is basically the video I wanted to make, but I'm not that famous. And what I think regarding Sonic needing friends, I believe Sonic was mutated by Robotnik & probably towards the end, Robotnik reveals that he made more & they're out there or something hinting towards a sequel & more characters

I will only be supporting this movie because of Jim Carry, but as a Sonic fan I hope it doesn't disappoint overall.

Out of all the video I’ve see, you explain reason why sonic look like that in the movie which is good, but the reason why people don’t like the design in the movie is not because it is no proportional but rather they took away his iconic shoes and gloves. In other words they kinda took away what made sonic unique like in the games. Yeah sure maybe Sonic’s attitude will still be their, but the thing that is holding it back is just the design (especially the legs)

It looks like they are following a revised plot of Sonic X since that is what the premise was for that Cartoon. They had discussed FOR YEARS that Sega wanted to do a live action Sonic movie that had a little bit of a darker tone to it. Since it is gonna be live action, I actually think this might be a good change. Hopefully they don’t make him look too ridiculously goofy 🙃 since my son and I are avid Sonic fans and his little heart was about to explode with joy at seeing this poster❣️Also, they could always get Roger Craig Smith to do his voice as he is the actor for most of his games or Jason Griffith❣️

Detective Pikachu made sense, there a was game literally called "Detective Pikachu." Sonic had nothing like this, rather have an animated film.

As a sonic fan myself, I’m scared that this film will do more harm than good. The series is already hanging on a pixilated thread and I fear that this movie will cause the franchise to tumble down into a deep dark pit.

I'm not really bothered that much by most those things you mentioned... What I AM kind of concerned about, is how small his eye looks in that silhouetted poster... Making him have 2 separate eyes is understandable, but at least make him have have BIG eyes. Also, get the gloves and shoes right, and I'll be fairly content...

Peoples problem is how paramount responded, not how sonic looked, granted they did respond eventualy, and are hoping to update the design and make it more sonic-y

I hope they use the older model from the poster with Chris Pratt but modify it just a little?? I like his face and over all design in that one, although I don’t DISAGREE with the muscles they just shouldn’t make him overly human like

I think it's really dumb to think Sonic needed to look more realistic. His specific design is a thing I love about the character. Jean-Ralphio vs the live action Grinch just doesn't do it for me. I'm sure it'll be mediocre enough that some Sonic fans will accept it. Every generally disliked Sonic game has it's defenders, so this won't be much different.

I feel like you actually aren’t a Sonic fan. If the joint eye bugs you, or you think it would bug you, you don’t understand the design.

@3c films this is one of the most balanced breakdowns of the Sonic film I have seen since the motion poster dropped, and I am living for it! One of the arguments about the muscular arms and legs that Sonic is presented with that I make is that if you look at the game designs, Sonic and all the animal characters basically have tubes for arms...or as I've started to call it, bendy straws. If you're doing a Sonic that's being presented as a flesh and blood creature that would exist in the real world...and I don't mean adventure series real world, I mean our real world...it just wont look believable It will look off. Just how it is. YOu can not bring a character like Sonic into a flesh and blood world and keep him looking like he's toon town ready. This isn't Who Framed Roger Rabbit. That's why when I saw the silhouette, I was like, ok I see you! so far they've done exactly what I was expecting them to do. Texture the quills, add fur texture to the underbelly and possibly arms. the shoe change was unexpected but for me not unwelcome, and its not like the game series hasn't done it before. I don't think the eyes will be realistic to actual hedgehogs. I do believe they will be smaller but not realistic to the point where they'll look like your sisters hedgehog, I mean they have to have pupils and an iris so they can bring out that green. as for plot, I don't think the plot is going to be alternate reality, though it certainly could. They could be going for "from an alien to us" planet too. So far Im liking the redesign. I think ultimately, for me, is its going to be a question of Does this rendition of Sonic fit the worldbuilding that is being presented? If he does, i'm going to be living for it.

If we ever got a full fledged Sonic movie, I would want it to be animated. Maybe hand drawn or cgi. But a live action version just doesn't look right. Also, I wouldn't mind seeing a movie like this back in the 80s or 90s but all in all, the cast seems solid and Jim Carrey has me sold so...

Dude sonic has two eyes. He was just drawn to look like he has one, it's a cartoony choice! It can easily adapted to cgi, look at EVERY SINGLE RECENT SONIC GAME

I just wanna thank you for bringing up the fur debate, as I’ve seen a few comments claiming hedgehogs aren’t fuzzy, which is pretty ridiculous! I have a pet hedgehog myself and she’s plenty furry :) imo I don’t think the design is that bad, wasn’t a huge fan of Sonic’s usual look but I tolerated it because the games were fun. I’ll keep an open mind and wait until an actual trailer drops before voicing my full opinion. Great video!

I see that first look of Sonic the hedgehog movie on Monday And I was realize something, WHAT the fuck are they look like in the movie He’s looks like from Sonic boom style except the shoe is real

I'm really glad that I'm seeing somebody else that is thinking positive about the movie instead of only thinking negative like everybody is doing edits on this movie and saying oh it's bad always going to be horrible just because of the fact that Sonic has been this shape in form for only give or take a few years like seriously he has changed up his look multiple times but people say oh Sonic has always been this way he's always had this body tone well actually no. With each Sonic game Sonic changes and with each Sonic that is given people say oh this is what Sonic looks like or why is Sonic this way or this game is horrible or this game is good as I'm looking at those and hoping that the movies going to be good and not just just jump the gun and save this movie is horrible. If I can give hope for detective Pikachu then why not give hope for Sonic the hedgehog movie.

I agree the reactions people had were kind of blown out of proportion but I'm bothered that they changed his shoe design in favor of something more basic...he literally wears one piece of clothing and they messed that up.
