Agreed. His d4 helps a lot though since it low profiles high attacks/projectiles, has so much range and is rather quick for a low. I've run up and d4'd a lot against mid-lvl zoning with some decent success.

@@DoobiesnBics It helps. I dont know about it taking care of zoning. Certainly it's useful but not all that reliable or safe to use unless you've got advantage or good spacing.

Joker has some serious flaws. He can be zoned out and spammed against much easier than other characters. He has none of the useful stuff that most characters in the game have like a teleport, or rush-down/get-in type special move (i.e. Jade's Nitro kick, Sub-Zero's slide, Lui Kang's flying kick etc.) so you're left with chasing people around the arena with Joker's dash. His projectiles are slow has hell on start-up. His puppet parry in his first variation, although workable, seems to me like it's the worst parry in the game. It takes forever to recover from if you guess wrong, unlike Jade's parry, which recovers almost instantly. You also can't hold it very long like Johnny Cage or Skarlett. So if you guess your opponent will do a mid attack, and they don't, you're screwed. That's why Joker's Ace of Knaves variation is S Tier and Clown Prince isn't. For us Joker mains, we rely heavily on his mix-ups, his range, and mind-games. Few characters have better range than Joker. But with all that said, that's why he isn't an easy character to master. You can pick up Sub-Zero and get wins with him online with his buttons on the side of the screen (I've done that). Some characters carry you (i.e. Sub Zero, Jade, Kung Lao before the nerf), but Joker won't help you if you're lazy or don't what you're doing.

Make sure to be on practice mode. I spent the first 2 days in practice mode and playing with friends before i took him online

The best way is by trying to get use to doing the jack in the box move. It helps you get in better.

Sergio Sonato I’ve never lab tho I just take a new character online and get pummelled for a good 6 games or more. Then get the hang of it lol. Sometimes because of the irrationality I would win. Throwing out unexpected moves lol

Ace of Knaves and Clown Prince are Tournament variations only. Trickster and Devious Clown are base variations not allowed in Tournaments.

That's how the character typically is supposed to be played. Controlling space and keeping players out for damage and counter poking into big combos. A weakness he has is huge recovery after baiting his attacks and forcing him to commit to unsafe options. I'm not saying you can't think it's boring. But that's the type of character he's playing. Slower pace neutral

Honeybee’s Noob is decent but the fact that he only uses one variation out of the three that are available is what people are jobbing at. On top of that Seeing Double is the most boring/linear and predictable of the 3 variations.
