One of the best scenes between Sonny and Brenda. I so miss the days of soap operas when I stayed glued to the television. I couldn't wait to get out of class to watch General Hospital. I also miss Brenda and Sonny as a couple. Vanessa and Maurice definitely should have won a day time emmy for that scene.

I remember when this aired. I was in high school and got to leave early for an appointment. I was so happy that I got to watch my favorite soap while waiting.Then this scene came and went and the entire waiting room of patients was so locked in and it was dead silent throughout. After we were all like "wow"!!

OMG, this is one of my favorite S@B scenes.When Sonny is telling Brenda that he loved her and he thought she loved him too, My heart aches...the music that is playing in the background is perfect. This scene was written brilliantly and performed with such rawness and intensity by both Vanessa and Maurice! To bad GH lacks this type of writing and acting nowadays.

This is so sad to watch. Maurice & Vanessa were so intimate with these scenes. This story wrecked Brenda & Sonny for a while, but the love was never broken.

The hardest scene to watch outside of when Sonny left Brenda at the altar.

This scene was so powerful because it showed the true character of a person it showed you how fast love/trust/loyalty can just disappear in an instant it showed how an person can legit let ppl come in between their relationship get in their head an fuck up everything this was amazing Man I wish I was born when this happened so I could see the fall out and genuine emotions

Oh man, I still remember watching this for the first time all those years ago. That was when GH was at it's very best. The writers and the storylines were far superior to anything that on today. That's scene is so hard to watch. It tears me up to watch it again. Vanessa and Maurice deserved Emmy's for their performances there. I wish GH could be as good as it once was.

This scene would never be allowed to play out today and thank God for that. Sonny threatened to hit Brenda and he put hands on her physically. He shook her and pushed her. She ends up on the floor trying to cling to his leg. Sonny is a violent man who kills people for a living. Also, there is no limit to the emotional abuse he inflicted on Brenda throughout their relationship.

Wow I was 13 when this first aired. Nearly 20 years later and this still gives me chill bumps and it still makes me tear up! God they were on fire together. Their chemistry was off the charts. Immeasurable. One of the last great "Supercouples".

What an emotional scene. Made me cry. This has got to be the best scene I ever seen on a soap. Dang. Sonny' eyes said it all. When he said I love you Brenda. He was all choked up. I can't believe the writers did that to them 😭. Amazing writing but it ruined them.

This was so heartbreaking...but I'm so glad she wore that wire in retrospect. It changed their relationship for the better. By 1997 they were perfect for each other and it was all because Sonny learned how to love and face loss (Stone's death) and forgive after betrayal (Brenda). Brenda also was able to grow up because of making so many mistakes, sleepign with Miguel and also because of Jax who showed her another side to herself. If MB had stayed they would have been married and then who knows...but it would have been epic, too bad the actors had to move on from the show and this s/l.

This was a powerful scene him shaking her so hard because he’s doesn’t wanna hit her, backing away from her throwing her hands off him. Her gut wrenching cries as he walks out the door, sonny look on his face when he pulled the wire out. Just speechless it’s such a powerful scene

I remember this scene too! I was in 8th grade and always got dropped off from school before it aired. I would quickly shower then watch this. Sonny and Brenda were always my favorite couple. But then I loved Jax and Brenda! I miss them being on the show! This must of been in 1995? I was in 7th and 8th grade!

@mwerner1020 - haha! Yea I know! I think it was like that for EVERY S&B fan. We were ALL glued to the tube to see if S&B was going to get back together. And I would say my favorite part of the S&B era was when they were both trying to make each other jealous. Her conjuring up a plan with jax to make sonny jealous, and sonny acting like he was so in love with lily (when we ALL know he wasn't)...then the kiss behind lukes restaurant/bar was the IT moment for me... lol!

The problem with these two is that Sonny loves BRenda so much he cant stand to be with her and put her in danger....so not sure if they ever will be married or together but they always are connected moreso than any woman in his life.

@jasoncarly I believe that honestly or not that would have happened because she was like that of a child;she should have acted like a woman in a relationship and realized that maybe this was something he could not have told her or she should have broken up with him not worn a wire.But seriously if she was not going to turn him in then what was the point of the wire in the first place? Obviously she did not believe in their reliatonship enough to trust him as he said and yes he trusted lily

She was acting like a child and could not trust what he was saying and did one of the most ultimate betrayals and he did NOT bring that on himself, she did that and caused their break-up. What are you talking about? He did not believe Lily when she told him of the wire, he believed in Brenda and called Lily a liar until Brenda came to him wearing it and trying to incriminate him. I didnt feel sorry for Brenda because if she loved him

I don't know why the Writers wrote this story&broke them up? SMH and I Agree Brenda didn't have to ware a wire Especially if she wasn't planning on using it🤔 And Lily had been trying to break them up for Months!!! She knew that would seal the deal.

Was not watching regularly until 96. I think this is 96 but I missed a lot. I started watching after clink...boom & watched tony bobbie carly the cassadines so it was around the fall when I started taping while I was in school. Why did brenda do this ? Someone said she wasnt really gonna go to the cops? Plz someone explain. Also did she marry jax after barely knowing him? It's not exactly a wire it's a recorder. Isnt a wire when its taped on you & the cops are listening ? Then people say sonny never loved lily but it's been brought up by him how much he loved lily. If sonny moved on with lily married her & got pregnant than wasnt brenda foolish to give up jax? If lily didnt get blown up he would have been with her. He chose lily over brenda. Whether fans believe he loved brenda & not lily. In a gh anniversary special I think vanessa thought jax was better for her. She said " jax is so perfect no man like him exists in real life "

You know all you Brenda and Sonny fans can hate Lily all you want for her being with Sonny or causing them to break up but she didnt make Brenda wear the wire, she was only being a friend to him. I'm sorry but if Brenda was not going to turn the tape in then why was the wire neccesarry in the first place that makes me doubt her. Lily would never do that and while I am not a Lily and Sonny nor a S&B fan I truly believe what Brenda did was wrong and Lily was not.

I don't think Lilly would have. She grew up with that life. Brenda was very young and naive and was so cautious yet questioning etc. she was not good for Sonny. As much as I love the chemistry between them they were so wrong for each other. She could never fully understand his life and he couldn't keep her safe. Hate to say it but Brenda would have been much better with Jax or someone else. Although I like Sonny and Brenda to much together to like any of their other partners.
