thank you! this was really nice to follow as the written instructions were kind of confusing me. i made one with three colors, i was planning to get all the pyramids be made up of three colors and almost succeeded except with 2 pyramids at the end which are 2 colors instead but i decided to take it as an happy accident and decided that the point would be to find the two odd ones out!

Thank you so much for your wonderful comment! I am so glad the process made sense! 😊 the little “imperfections” make a piece more interesting, fun, and exciting! ☺️

Hello, thanks for this video but since I’m blind, I’m not able to see exactly how you constructed the sixth pyramid. Could you give me some written instructions in your reply if you don’t mind? Thank you very much.

No problem! Once you make a group of five points, feel for two adjacent points in that group. Build another point from one of these two to make a third point. Make another from that one for a forth point. From here, make a fifth point. Upon completing the fifth point, those five will feel like a U shape. Connect the loose flap from the first point to the pocket of the loose flap of the fifth point, then add the final unit to create the sixth point. In other words, it is the same as making a group of five points with an extra point. Please let me know if I need to clarify more. I am honored that you find my video helpful!

Thank you so much for this reply. I have my one set of six but have I to use two more points to make another set of six? Would you please clarify that? I can’t thank you enough.

@@chandanmokashi once you have your first six-point, go back to your five-point and feel for another two points a little to the right or left of the six-point. Because it is to the right or left of the six-point, instead of two points, you should feel three (two from the five-point and one additional one from the six-point you just made). Please let me know if I can clarify more! I am so glad this is helpful!

@@chartimancer Thank you so much for your reply. So if I understand you correctly, do I have to consider one point from the construction of six and one point from the earlier five? And then should I repeat the same process with them? I can’t thank you enough for your kind help.
@chartimancer16 күн бұрын
@@chandanmokashi exactly! You got it! And you do that until the initial group of five is surrounded by a group of six! Then you find two points on one of the groups of six and add three more to create a new group of five, and repeat the process of surrounding it! In the case of this new group of five, it will already have one set of six around it! You’re welcome! And no problem! I am always happy to help when I can! 💚❤️

Great video! I was trying to make large polyhedrons using sonobe units and got stuck while assembling them so this really helped, the shown method is really intuitive. About the shape, I think it could be a dual of truncated icosahedron which is apparently called pentakis dodecahedron. I was trying to calculate the number of units required to build it and ended up with 144, which further confused me, so that's why I looked it up. Anyway thanks for sharing this!

Thank you so much! I’m so glad it was helpful ☺️ and cool, thank you! The spiked Pentakis dodecahedron I’ve made with sonobe units is 60 pieces, and since that one has groups of 5 and 3 (while this one has 5 and 6), it certainly further complicates things! 🤔
