I was fortunate enough to buy a pair in white here in Auckland NZ for NZ$799 today. Its a stunning looker and is a good performer. It has crisp and clear sound profile. Notably missing is the Base which i feel if very subdued

I love Sonos products, I am thinking of buying one myself. Just read the comments and the Sony XM5 is almost half time cheaper then Sonos headphones. I am just wondering, as a first time, what do you think, does it worths the difference and if yes what is it? Besides the name ofc. Thanks!:)

We will have to do more testing but we think PX8 might have them beat in audio quality and Sonos may beat them in Noise Cancellation. But until we get the chance to test them more, we can't say for sure.

Yes, we were told that you can use up to 2 pairs of Sonos headphones at a time. We have not tested that though.

It has to be turned on even for wired connection seems bad. I use my sony wh-1000xm3 wired after the battery runs out. What would we do in this scenario with Sonos?

You would have to charge them before using again. You can get 3 hours of battery life after a 3 minute charge though.

This isn't uncommon for speakers that use dsp profiles, the problem with said headphones is they sound like sht when dsp isn't working.

Very comparable. For the brief time I tested them, they sounded almost as good as the XM5 noise cancelling which in my mind is very very good.

Very good. Our testing was very short so we will have to do a further analysis but from what we heard, they were very good.

Using bluetooth with an iPhone for both, the Bathys sound better. But it will probably be subjective. If you have the chance to demo them, you might think different. Many people on our team own the Bathys and love them!

I think the PX8's sound slightly better but won't have the head tracking or true cinema features. These also were more comfortable at first. But that will be subjective to who is wearing them.

It's all great... Until battery dies and you are left without headphones alltogether. I would expect passive mode as a must for a $500 gear

@@AudioAdvice yeah that's awesome, until it dies as in forever and you either invest in sending it to service so they exchange that battery pack or be left with a bulky-looking tiara. Sennheiser's momentum, just as one example, got that clear and works in active or passive mode (wired and no need to turn them on) and man! do they exceed it's active counterpart whistles with such an accomplished sound signature. How's that to counter programmed obsolescence?

There is nothing new or compelling with these headphones. Sonos says on their website that the lossless feature is supported over Bluetooth with compatible devices, I’m interested in hearing how they achieved that and which devices.

I did some research, to get lossless via Bluetooth your phone needs the Qualcomm Snapdragon Sound AptX chip. There are 3 android phones that have it as of today. Sony Xperia 1 VI, Asus zenfold 11 ultra and vivo X fold3. I don’t own any Sonos products so getting this would be just like getting any normal Bluetooth headphones. AirPods Max will at least sync with Apple TV or if you’re going just for Bluetooth headphones with no special features then the Sony XM5 is great at half the price when on sale. I don’t think these are going to sell so well in this saturated market but let’s see!

Not connecting to other sonos devices / zones other than an arc makes these kind of DoA for me, especially because they don't fold. Most of my use case I was hoping for was wifi signal from my record player so that I could walk around my house between zones or go outside without disturbing neighbours. While it's sort of annoying to setup multiple devices to send to other headphones from the TV, it's such a rare use case that I honestly don't mind connecting other headphones through bluetooth. Apple TV makes it super easy to automatically connect, and I can plug a headset into my PS5 controller. Nevermind the fact that I have a Gen 1 Playbar that works great and I have 0 interest in replacing it. I also _hate_ spacial audio in most cases unless I'm absolutely engrossed by a film because a lot of the time I'm multitasking, in general this is a super overrated feature for me, but maybe it's more compelling here?

For starters, they got the headphone cup swivel direction completely wrong. Was honestly expecting them to break through the Wifi headphone barrier with this one but unfortunately even that’s not happening. Makes me ask the question, what’s really new or different with this one in comparison to the established industry standards?

The Dolby head tracking, connection to the ARC soundbar, and TrueCinema feature coming soon are really the main differences. We do wish they had WiFi capability too. That would have made them really great!

But then, doesn’t the likes of Bose already have those features and tbh, i’m kinda skeptical if Sonos could come anywhere near to Bose when it ultimately comes to outright sound quality and a bit of zing as well as ANC, let alone match them. Agreed, but I'd price them even lower, 300-350, no more. Sonos is asking a lot for a pair of bluetooth headphones, that doesn't even support ldac, and doesn't have anything to it that competitors don't also have, aside from 'true cinema' which is untested, and wiht the recent app debacle, is not really a selling point currently.

It's a real shame that these underwhelming headphones are the reason Sonos bricked a huge portion of their client's systems by pushing an update that screwed their customers. Sonos' forums are FULL of angry customers who are unable to use their systems because of this update. I can't imagine playing $450 bucks for this trash that doesn't work with your existing sonos system. The fact that this review does even MENTION this Sonos fuck up, highlights how little value this review has.

Wow, seems a bit harsh. While we are disappointed with the current status of the app, Sonos has assured us that they are working on updates to get everything corrected. This review may be helpful for someone in the future and the app updates may already have been addressed. We've certainly shared with Sonos how eager our customers are to get all the features back in the app and they are working hard on it.

Sonos clearly isnt catering these headphones to existing Sonos customer boo. They are trying to bring non Sonos customers into their ecosystem. And on that lane this headphones seems pretty competitive in premium headphones market.

Like we said, we only had a very short amount of time to test them. The ANC is very good and is up there with Sony. We did not test the mic quality.

Unfortunately, this is still an overpriced segment of the market considering most people use streaming services and don’t care about lossless audio. Dolby music I’ve found to be more of an annoyance than a feature worth using. To many gimmicks in this space. It just needs to sound good and $150-$250 will get you what you need.
