The homeless woman was death in his innocent form, letting Jax know his _time_ on earth came to an end. This scene really gave me a chill down my spine. I think, it was the finest in SOA.

Sons of Anarchy never revealed the identity of the homeless woman, but Kurt Sutter has now given an answer. During a Q&A session on Instagram, he was asked about the homeless woman and what she represents, and while he gave an answer, it only made way for even more debate. Sutter explained she’s the “magic that anarchy summons and the mortality it extinguishes”, and that she’s “the bringer of eternal light and the harbinger of all things dark”, fueling fan theories about her being a deity or even the guardian angel of Jax. Back in 2012, Sutter said that the homeless woman is Jesus Christ, which seems fitting with the aforementioned description of her role and with the elements related to her final appearance in the series. After giving the blanket to Jax, the camera focused on the wine and bread she was eating, which appeared again in the final shot of the series, where two crows were eating the bread (splashed with wine) as Jax’s blood began to flow towards it.

You can also find her picture in a frame on the table at the house of the prison guard who oversees Opie's death. It is perhaps the most intricate plot line of the whole series

imagine getting that close to one of the four horseman (death) and surviving, Death always seemed to have a soft spot for Jax and helped him several times through the show.

She’s clearly the grim reaper AKA death who’s taken on a human form like the movie meet joe black she’s always there when someone dies and she says to Jemma “everyone knows me”

Well it is implied she may be EMILY PUTNER the mother of brooke ( the bipolar kid that broke jax's window ) she was accidentally killed as a result of john tellers collison with a truck and trailer in 1993 .. but KURT SUTTER MENTIONED SHE IS JESUS CHRIST, although possibly appearing in the form of EMILY PUTNER. When jax goes to the house to talk to brookes dad, there is a picture on the table and it is a woman and a man .. the man is brookes father and the woman is the homeless woman which is emily putner.. brookes mother.

Curt Sutter has said she is meant to resemble god/ Jesus setting the path to guide Jax to his destiny.. once you hear this and re watch it, there are multiple hints to this being a modern biker gang story mixed in to resemble an actual bible like story. Amazing writing.

Also, seeing as the homeless lady was (in all likelihood) a Christ like deity, I kind of feel either Jax knew deep down inside who she was here, or she answered his 'who are you?" through that short glance, hence Jax accepting the "its time"

JAX SHOWS EMOTIONS VERY WELL IN THE SHOW

The baby trolley made me think of Tara and the quiet life they should have had raising kids. That life disappeared, so Jax became the reaper fo sette things and then met the reaper herself

If you're paying attention you actually get her backstory in season 6, she was killed in the wreck that killed jax's dad. Her daughter and Jax have a heart to heart later in the show, it's all there.

And the “Who are you”? Jax knew

For me she was a kind of guardian angel or something..as kurt says she’s whatever we want her to be. So , when she was there for jax and kinda the only one who actually understood him, and when she said “it’s time” like she knows what’s up and it’s cool

When she says "It's Time" it's ambiguous, as she could be saying that "it's time to do something" or her name could be Time, as in Old Father Time - the grim reaper.

I think this show gives the ultimate message,no matter how honourable or straight forward you are,no matter if you care about people and your family....one thing is for sure,if you chose the criminal life it ends only in bad ways never in good.I think a lot of people that watch the show miss out on this,because they focus on how cool Jax and the other characters are,how cool is the bike,the girls the guns.But at the end of the day the clear picture is that none of them get to see the real happiness in life,getting educated and focusing on work and family,providing for your family,not killing or being killed.These people are all destroyed from the beginning and the only reason they are likeable ultimately is not the being cool part but actually some of their values that we can associate our selves with like honour and love....the rest of the stuff,most people can't ride a bike,don't have the nuts to kill and don't sell drugs or guns cause they ruin other peoples lives.To me the devotion in family and friends is what i keep as a positive from this show.It is very well executed and keeps you interested till the last season.I know it is just entertainment but i wanted to make this comment because a lot of young people think thats a cool way to leave and just forget all the tragedy this brings

The homeless lady is a character (I forget her name) in Shakespear's Hamlet, which Sons Of Anarchy is loosely based on...

I think, she represents death itself...death is absolut and sacred...and only Death would not tell you her/his name....nobody knows Deaths gender, because nobody survived to tell the tale

I can't remember but did I read or hear that she symbolised the reaper? Anyone she comes across dies etc. If so, that is absolutely class.

She was an incarnation of Jesus that was watching over Jax throughout his trials and tribulations in life. Notice how the shows creator and writer always has bread and wine being consumed by this lady whenever we see her in a scene throughout the show. It is a symbolic overture to Jesus and the last supper with his disciples. When the lady hands him the blanket I believe its another symbolic overture showing that Jesus who represents good wants Jax to vanquish evil which August marks represents and then "IT'S TIME" for Jax to meet his creator.

I believe Jax will become the new Mr. Mayhem or a ghost.
