Miles Ladd, 1/50 shutter at 24 fps in default/neutral picture profile, ISO 200/800 with zeiss 55 f1.8. The camera performs great in low light I was super impressed.

@@antonpleshka do you now how the A7 (1) perform in low light?

STiL TQ. (Kunstfilme, Veganismus...) The A7(1) is very good in low light, if the ISO is controlled and it is paired with fast prime lens.

A7ii with the FE 50 & 85 are nice primes for the money. Skip the kit lens.

It all depends on your location. In general, you need to open your lens all the way to let as much light as possible. It helps to have a prime lens. If you shoot 24fps according to the rules your shutter speed should be doubled 1/48 (a7ii has a 1/50) but you can go down to 1/30 if you are not filming fast moving objects. So your lens is wide open, preferably a prime with an aperture of at least f2, and your shutter speed is 1/30. Next step is to set your ISO according to your location. Remember the higher the ISO the grainier the footage will be.

@@antonpleshka Hi is the native iso of a7ii start from 200? Because my camera can't go lower then that.

RELAXING MEDIA For video it starts at 200 ISO and for photography it go’s all the way to 50 ISO.

Mo S The AF is definitely not the fastest out there but the A7ii is full frame and better in low light than the a6300.

Keep in mind that the lense you are using is crucial, here the video maker use a lense thats can go down to f1.8 which let a huge amount of light to go in the camera.

I tried not to go over the ISO 3200. Most of it was shot at ISO 800. The lens you use plays a major role in low light situations. With a fast lens at f1.4 wide open aperture, you can get away with lower ISO settings.

I used the default picture profile.

Do you need photography or not? If yes get the A7II. If not get the A6300 since you get 4k, 1080p 120 fps and faster AF. And somehow its better in low light performance.

The highest ISO used was 800

Satlantas Polres Tabalong To minimize grain in low light use prime lenses at least a f/2 or lower to let in more light. This way you can keep a lower ISO making the footage less grainy. The great thing with the a7 series is that you can adapt vintage prime lenses that are fairly inexpensive.

I would get the Sony a7iii because of 4k and way better low light capability. The beauty of the a7 series is that you can adapt almost any lens. If you have a tight budget you can look for prime vintage lenses, Canon​ FD 50mm f/1.4 is a good starter lens but it is a manual lens.

I used the Zeiss Sonnar FE 55mm f1.8 prime lens.

dimas noercahyo The native ISO on the a7 ii is 200 when shooting video which will yield the best results. The ISO for best video quality is between 200/1600 but keep in mind faster lenses will enable you to use lower ISO.

The a6500 is a better video camera then the a7ii. It all depends on the work you want to create. If you are a photographer the a7ii is an excellent choice because it is a full frame camera and you can easily adapt any lens to it. For video the a6500 has the edge, it is a 4K camera that allows you to do more in post like zoom, recompose, without loosing quality when exporting to HD.

Otep Dumalos I didn’t desoise the footage. I used a fast prime lens (Sony 50 mm f1.8) wide open to let in as much light possible.

Shwt1me 818 the price of the A7ii currently is amazing and it is a very capable camera and the money you save can go to a good lens/lenses :)

He use 200 or 800 iso .. A7ii is bad for lowlight video performance .. It need fast lens, like f1.8 or 1.4 .. 1600 is max acceptabble iso on a7ii

Garcia Barnes did you end up getting the A7 II? I was also planning to get the A6500 but after some persuasion, I might get the A7 II instead.

I think the main thing, other than the size in general, and the differences between full-frame (A7) and crop-sensor (A6500), is the lack of a headphone jack on the A6500. So you'll be able to plug an external mic into the A6500, but you won't know how it'll sound, at least from the camera itself, lol.
