You make my workflow faster as there was no option to add this function to one of the physical buttons on the camera. Eye AF in video mode on the A7siii is one of the most game changing features I’ve used in a long time. The more I try and stump it the more I’m impressed. Amazing feature. What Autofocus mode do you use for video the most?

Thanks for this. Still not sure if responsiveness too high makes the Sony lose faces in scenes with lots of movement. Needs testing. Never thought a Video about AF settings could be that entertaining. You are a funny guy.

Thanks for the video I shoot solo and outside most often and my camera often has me in focus then flashes the focus on the background constantly so it totally ruins the shot. Any tips on this. I am often 9+ feet away from camera and cannot touch the screen and it does this microadjustments over and over again while recording in wide focus with face priority on

Ugghh I want one buutttt just bought a Panasonic S1 a month ago and just bought an S5 but this is definitely something I want to consider in the future. I’m ok using manual focus but dang the AF is sooooo good on this !

Wonderful explanation. I struggled with eye AF not realizing in video you have to touch the face to get it started. Seems weird that Sony wouldn't just have you turn on face recognition and capture eye af with a half press of button?

I’m NOT a professional videographer and wish there was a video for beginners like me but that have this fancy camera… do you have a tutorial like this? I've got my A7Siii now, and testing the focus tracking results have not been great. Using the Sony 20mm G lens. I'm testing on a pool table, rolling the balls from the front to the back. Using the Wide focus area screen is worst, as the ball rolls back, the camera starts tracking the green cloth! Spot focus set Small working best. If the ball is rolling slowly, it will track all the way. Faster rolls and focus is lost. Also, irregular objects track better. I'll keep practicing but My backup for tracking fast moving targets will be using a wide lens, deep depth of field, focusing at infinity, just like on my old camcorders. And crop in. I would encourage gear reviewers. Its nice to hear what works. But press until you find failure points, and make those of those as well.

I find it strange no one talks about subject tracking/face tracking with this camera ever. I use that on my A7R4 all the time in photos but it won't work with 120fps video. So A7sIII doesn't allow touch tracking/subject tracking in video as well?(especially in slow-mo)
