Love your videos and I subscribed and liked this and several more of your videos. I know it's hard to judge from an online video, but the images look significantly better than our 65" A80L. Looks brighter and more detailed. I also played the same content from Jennifer Gala on our 65" A80L. I also have Sony's 75" BRAVIA 9 QD MiniLED TV from Value Electronics and Jennifer Gala's content looks better on the BRAVIA 9. More detail in the overall picture with excellent details in the dark areas and more pop to the images with the BRAVIA 9.

Sony sets the standard for image processing and OLED takes it home . Breathtaking video thank you always Brian you are the best .

Honestly, I’m really excited to see what the Bravia 8 can do with this new panel (the LG C4 can now reach 1,000 nits), and new chipset. And at a higher retail price than previous years, it should get closer to the A95L. I don’t care how bright the Bravia 9 LED can get, it can never deliver this level of contrast-and higher contrast will deliver better all around HDR performance

How is the white balance out of the box? With the A80l the white balance was pretty cold, leaning towards blue according to what hifi and rtings. Did you notice this? Supposedly the Bravia 8 is more accurate, but still no actual tests available. For me the white balance, brightness, new menu structure, sleeker design and center sync 2.0 are enough to go for the Bravia 8.

Another stunning WOLED implementation by Sony. I would love to have one of these in my media room. Maybe the stars and the funds will align in the coming years!

A little heavy on the blacks but maybe that could be adjusted in the settings. Seems to crush out a lot of detail.

How does this compare with the A95L with quantum dots and the extra brightness? Is this right there or is that at another level?

I think this tv looks great this year, I wasn’t too impressed with the A80L of last year. If I was looking for a smaller size I’d definitely consider the Bravia 8 but like you I’m in the heavy weight decision and only interested in TVs 83” and larger so I’ve got the 85” QN900D, 85” Bravia 9 & the 83” G4 as my top contenders. Gaming is my number one priority followed by everything else.

Is the remote backlit like the A95L and does it have the remote finder feature? Was thinking of A95L but this might be a contender this year, I was looking towards S90D but I want Dolby Vision

I want to see a Bravia 8 vs S90D comparison!

I have a quick question. Does anyone know if the 2 hdmi 2.0b ports on the A95L can pass Dolby atmos to the soundbar if I connect an Nvidia shield pro?

Until processing compression and upscaling gets better for streaming I'm not spending that kind of money on a smaller TV with better contrast. My 85x90l most times blows people's minds and buying that with a full Atmos surround with bar, rears and sub is still significantly cheaper than just this TV in a smaller size. OLED is the best but even with the money it's hard to justify buying 5k TV unless you're really wealthy and even then it's tough when some of these much cheaper models are starting to perform so well. The flaws are far less apparent or distracting and the image can be tweaked to look mostly great to you and your family/guests.

Its a significant improvement over the A80L. It is 25 to 40$ brighter acording to Rthings measurements

Unsure between the Bravia 8 OLED or the LG G4. Current OLED is Sony A80J from 2021. But wanting to go one size up so in the market and have heard good things about the G4. Mostly use it for movies, netflix etc. and some gaming (PS5). If you could only pick one between the two what would you recommend?

Again, I told you previously that you need mention if a TV has Glossy or Semi-Gloss panel. I could see this B8 has Glossy screen in this instance, but other TVs in different videos were harder to tell. Just small improvement you need to make in your reviews.

It’s unfortunate in many reviews I have viewed the A95L is no longer mentioned. The Bravia 8 is not Sony’s only OLED release for 2024. The A95L has been re-released for 2024. Why? Because in many respects and metrics it still has no peer. Overall Image processing, color accuracy, color saturation and overall Color Gamut. This is a bit of a subjective statement, but as a Calibrator with twenty six years of experience I would recommend the A95L above all peers including the G4. The A95L is not only still relevant it is still in my opinion the highest benchmark in OLED.

Self emissive display for me all day I had seen the bravia 9 at the high end tv store I go to I can't do any kind of blooming, I will be definitely getting the Panasonic Z95A.

Aside from the slight uptick in brightness and a couple of picture features, is it really THAT much different than the A80L? Given that it sells for $1k more than the A80L in most places right now, there would need to be a pretty solid difference to justify paying that much more if last year's model is 95% the same

Hey Brian. I wrote on your bravia 7 review video that i bought the bravia 7. I mainly bought it because i'm scared of burn in on oled displays and my kid and wife watches tv during the day, and we prefer having a sunlit room (light from big windows on the left side, which is not a problem with the mini led tv we currently have). In regards to burn in we don't really watch sports or flow tv. I'm also wondering whether you can leave an oled tv on to cycle through google gallery or if it's risky, because i love that feature with google tvs. I've just sort of been persuaded by some comments online regarding the motion handling and unmatched picture clarity of oled (bravia 9 is only in 75" in eu and not within my price range). I really don't like the motion handling of my current tcl c845 and i saw a comparison between it and the x90l which apparently had even worse motion handling. So i'm wondering if it's a mini led thing rather than just the chip on this tv. I'm also a bit turned off about the lack of anti glare and especially wide angle coating on the bravia 7. It kind of makes me wonder if it will handle my daytime viewing conditions any better than the oled bravia 8. I've seen the difference between the samsung s90c and any led/mini led they had in the store and was blown away. I was really sold on the s90c until i learned about burn in and the bad viewing experience in bright rooms. The store just sent me a message that the tv is delayed, so i'm actually wondering if i should buy the bravia 8 instead. What do you think? Which viewing condition would be worse? Bad angled viewing and semi-gloss with no anti-glare coating on bravia 7 or oled bravia 8 for daytime viewing? Will the oled be significantly dimmer? (I'm currently used to 2000 nit peak brightness tv). Is the oled a significant improvement for late night movie watching or is it very similar now that they're both sony tvs from the same year and lineup? Sorry to have been a pain in the ass in the live stream. I just feel like now that tandem OLED exists it's very hard to feel excited about the current manifestation of OLED. Apple put that display in the iPad Pro M4 and it's the thinnest iPad they've ever made, but it's comfortable at 1000 nits full screen with only two layers of emitter material. I would buy a screen with those specs even if I could only get one at 32 inch. Only a couple of LCDs reach 1000 nits full screen, so the idea that there is a OLED in a consumer product that can do that on a 13 inch screen just puts a huge wet blanket on the current screens even though those screens are pretty nice

So is Bravia 8 better than Bravia 9?

Massively overpriced considering you can get the A95L for £100 difference here in the UK for each size variant. Absolute no brainier to go With the A95L.

I am in the market for a new tv. I play a lot of games on ps5 and series X up to 120hz. I also watch a lot of movies, sports and 1080p youtube content. Currently deciding between the LG G3 65 inch 2000 euros, Sony Bravia 8: 2899 euros and LG G4: 3309 euro's Also i do not have a sound bar as of yet. What would you recommend? The a80l and s90c 65 inch are also 2000 euros atm.
