Hey everyone! Couple of things: I don't think Sony is likely to confirm whether the A90J uses an evo panel or not. They don't even like to discuss FALD zones -- gotta count those myself. Also, no word on VRR update, and I'm not expecting one soon. Finally, if you think you see blur in the COD game clip, know that it is the camera, not the TV!

I am seriously looking forward to comparison with LG. Please spend some time on gaming comparison between the two if you can, it will be much appreciated. I am upgrading my now ancient Pioneer plasma so it will be Lg G1 or A90J. My Pioneer plasma now has 5 images burned in and they don't seem to be going away but from what I have been reading days of OLEG image burn are over, allegedly. I checked behind the sofa and I didn't find 50k lying around to spend on MicroLED so OLED it is. A90J one is significantly more expensive than Lg G1 but what a stunning panel it is!

I’m 73 years old and since I was a kid I always thought that there were 2 television manufacturers, Sony and then everybody else. No negative comments about Samsung or LG but I’ve always owned Sony televisions. My next television will also be Sony and while I would love to get this new model the $4000 price tag is kinda steep. I will probably opt for a different OLED or the 65 inch led 950. At any rate I will always get Sony over anything else.

They just keep on going! Every Sony tv I have might as well be another member of the family because they’ll be here as long as I need them. Don’t think I’ve seen one break down yet. That being said their budget options aren’t as good as other brands but when they want to be the best on the market no one else can match them.

@@Revolver1981 actually SONY outsells Samsung in the high end premium segment. Samsung sells the most TVs overall because of LCD and cheaper models. But in the high end premium segment SONY and LG outsell Samsung. Not least of all because of OLED. Samsung screwed up with opting out of OLED. No matter how much money Samsung spends to convince the public that Qled is a thing it's still just glorified lcd. And at the end of the day sales numbers to not automatically equate to quality. KIA sells more cars than Lexus because they are cheaper. Thus is a KIA better than a Lexus?

My A90J , 65 inch was wall mounted in my lower level Darkened room. It exceeded my greatest expectations! Also using it as the center Chanel speaker with a newer Denon receiver and matched Mirage floor standing speaker with surrounds. The sound is very very good. No one will regret having one in their home to enjoy for years to come.

I’ve had my 55” a90j for a couple of weeks now. I bought a Sonos Arc sound bar for it as well. Expensive yes, but both are worth every penny. TV picture quality and detail are stunning. Sound is crystal clear with very good bass response without a dedicated sub-woofer. Would recommend both in a heartbeat.

I'm happy to see you love this TV. I would just like for you to factor in the ridicoulous price point of the TV in the overall review, as in my opinion, it should be a factor in a TV appreciation. Looking forward to the G1 comparison, but keep in mind that the G1 with its pricepoint should be compared to the lower end a80J, not the a90J, as it is a lot more expensive. Based on this, the G1, and A90J are both good buys, just in different brackets

I've always loved Sony products (except for their pricing), especially their ES series receivers. As I write this I'm looking at my first ES receiver - the STR-GX10es purchased in 1990. I've also had a number of Sony 5-channel es receivers. My biggest purchase was a 55" rear projection tv - 2003. The color fidelity on this was spectacular and it brought me many years of enjoyment. While I'm not currently looking to upgrade my tv (Panasonic TC-P55ST30) if I did it would be the Sony A90J. For the high price of this set one would think that banana connectors would be the absolute way to go rather spring connectors for the center channel. Looking at the back of the set with all its high-tech wizardry and then seeing cheapo speaker connections... c'mon Sony.

If you do, my advice is to always search for a balance that works for you over the long run; not so easy that you never make any progress on your goals, not too hard that you burn out and quit. I really don't get the practicle benefits of the new Cognitive XR processing chip Sony is using in it's new 2021 TV lineup.🤔 Dosen't the next gen A.I processing it's implementing on a scene to scene basis by analysing and changing colour, contrast and details for improvements in immersion go against how movies and TV shows are ideally meant to be watched? aka, the Creator's mode that preserves the creator's intent becoming a highlight in the past two years in the TV market. What's even more puzzling is that Sony markets 'Netflix Calibrated Mode' and 'Film maker mode' right next to this new feature. Correct me if I'm wrong but won't the processing turn off when these modes are enabled? It's pretty obvious but still I could be wrong. It's just not Sony either, others like Samsung and LG are bringing this sort of processing tech in some way or the other with newer, powerful and improved chips every year. With all the picture settings we got to manually fiddle around with out of the box to get started with accurate viewing experience this new marketing gimmick just seems to turn everything around, dosen't it?🤷🏻‍♂️

Coming from Germany trips to the US are my favorite. Can‘t wait for your comparison of A90J vs G1 especially regarding game mode performance but the repeated VRR delay on Sony TVs is a bummer. Really hope they can get it released until prices drop around October/November or otherwise the G1 will be without competition for enthusiast gamers. I‘m not buying a TV with a feature promised for the future with several delays already.

Sony has released an unfinished product for the second year in a row. This is ridiculous. It prob is the best tv of 2021 but it’s lacking features that last years models were promised, and still have not received! Get it together Sony. And no I’m not an LG fan boy. I own a A9g and A9f. We as the consumer, should not be supporting the launch of items that are incomplete. I’m not sure why this keeps getting overlooked, or why Sony gets a pass on this.

My thoughts too. When I heard the LG G1 only hit ~800 nits w/ accurate settings compared to 1300 nits on this I was very annoyed. But if the A90J can only do 1300 nits in vivid mode, which nobody should use, then they're basically the same.

Then the lg c1 or b1 once a in-depth review is done I believe would be the most bang for buck IMO and the G1 falls short of expectation a hard pass

Yellowstone. Thanks to this video this is the first Sony TV I have looked at in a long time that would make me consider going with Sony again, thanks Caleb. I have the LG CX. I love that TV. I am definitely interested in getting another OLED TV because of the brightness and because I want to get rid of my 65 inch curved we use in the living room. I’ve been a Samsung guy until the last couple of years, I’ve gone with LG products. I haven’t been a Sony guy since the late 90s and early 2000‘s when I bought my first 52” Hitachi UltraVision in 2002 with an HDMI port in the back. DVI was still very popular back then. I switch to Samsung in 2005 but quickly got away from them after I bought the curved 65 that I have in my living room now, I believe I bought that in late 2016 early 2017. The picture looks beautiful but it’s nothing like OLED and the curve never did anything for me. Thanks again buddy for making a great video on the latest ‘21 TVs. So far I’m leaning toward the Sony over the G1 so I’m looking forward to watching your other videos coming out to make a more definitive choice. Paul

what about glare. i need to buy a new tv for living room, which is my main watching room. Issue is there is so much light and my current OLED is unwatchable during the day, or even with any light on in the room. @@Estarvia umm...I think you don't understand how engineering works. LG simply provides a display panel. It's what you then do with it that matters. Otherwise a SONY, LG, and Panasonic TV would all be identical right? Sony's image processing, design of the TV, the heat sink (which did not come from Panasonic....no idea where you got that info from), and their audio tech which turns the screen into the speaker (for an example of what S0NY does with the display panel) is the feat of engineering being referred to.

@@yso-serious1759 I have a 1300 Nit tv currently. IT does not hurt your eyes or blow out the details. In fact the higher nits the better the hdr highlights. Nit brightness is not the same as like turning up regular brightness on a television optuons. The rest of the picture scales with the nits. It’s not OLED though. But when you watch it that bright it makes HDR far better than you could believe. It’s the one advantage led has over OLED. I want one that can do both. Plus with one that gets that bright you don’t have to be in as dim a room to see it properly with no loss of visual quality.
