I have a similar setup but I opted for the Nitze EVF-K03. Another pro tip, I found the eye cup sponge to be very flat and my eye lashes would swipe the glass. So I stacked the second eye sponge and it’s super comfy!

i've never seen that EVF mount before--it looks really nice! especially the fact that it's extendable. how are you liking it? And good idea, i'll see if I can do that to add some more comfort

@@chadwin it’s dope. My rig is a little on the tall side, so it’s nice to that rail to extend lower when I’m on a shoulder mount and then upward if I’m viewing while my camera is on a tripod. It’s really neat. I like it.

Hey Chadwin, just wondering whilst using the Evf more long term, did you come across any big issues? Things I’ve heard are; if your eye goes off centre it distorts badly, image is small with poor resolution and it’s really hard to get focus. Just curious if these or any other issues have come up for you?

I had that shoulder pad for my fx6 and it felt horrible. It looks great sure, but it was extremely uncomfortable with no padding. Also i think its weird the rods are connected to the plate and not the shoulder pad, great video tho!

Yeah, I agree--the shoulder pad part is very firm--not very cushiony since it's basically just rubber! It is strange that the rod adapters are connected to the plate, but if you don't like that you could use your own manfrotto plate instead and use a 15mm adapter base on top of it. What did you end up going with instead?

@@chadwin exactly, for me it also was way to close up on my face. Apparently this pad is mainly made for the fs5/7 and fx9, smallrig told me this isnt optimal with the fx6. I sold mine and bought a easyrig minimax this morning, recieving it in the mail tomorrow mornin!

Brilliant video. I have a Canon C70. Wonderful pictures but terrible ergonomics for me. Just doesn't not suit run and gun

Thanks for watching! Yeah, the C70 is an interesting camera. On paper it looks really nice, but in the hand it seems a little bit awkward, to me. Great image still!!

How do you record audio whit that rig?

typically throwing a lav mic on. or using a shotgun mic in the mic holder if i just need ambience.

@@chadwin where do you plug the mic?? the camera does not have a mic input without the handle. Is there some other way?

Why have a nice camera and then put on the least expensive and according to reports, the worst EVF? When buying a camera system, remember to add in the costs of all the accessories you'll need to make it work for your type of production. Cheers
