A Sony PlayStation 4 repair attempt with no power at all. Nothing happens when you press the buttons or try inserting a disc.
We picked up this PS4 for £20 from a house clearance guy on the Ramsbottom Jumble Trail. When it was plugged in nothing at all would happen when we press the power or eject buttons or when we tried to insert a disc. Let's get this PlayStation 4 apart and see if we can work out what is wrong with it and try to repair it.

"DIDN'T HE DO Well" Amazing process of eliminations with some sort of organised chaos LOL but it worked. You are happy and made me happy because I too when I do fix something I get the same buzz. Great video!! I have no clue what you are doing haha but it interests me massively!! Patience and persistence is on another level, you could have just thought sod it paid 30/40 quid for a new PSU and eaten into any profit

So what was the actual fix (just the ic chip?) or was all those parts bad, and the wire retrace all necessary?

This was a while ago but from memory it was the resistor, the optocoupler and the ic that were all bad and needed replacing. The trace is there for a reason so it's always a good idea to repair it as well

HDMI cord is the power cord. I swear it will work with just that🤣🤣🤣🤣

@FixIt for Reselling you plugged the hdmi cord in and then tried to power it up. HDMI is for the video not the power🤷‍♂️

When? At the beginning? I plugged the power cable in. The HDMI port is a third of the way along the back. I don't even plug the hdmi in until the end.
