If ever there was an example of excellency in KZfaq presentation this is it. Perfect timing, clarity, and scope of topics. No redundancy, every word counts. I'm an ex owner of a photo studio and (arrogantly) I nearly skipped this vid. Thank goodness (and you) for this mega guide to an awesome but very complex camera. I 'm really looking forward to looking at all your vids. It might be worth, in this vid, adding how to transfer files via USB to a PC or Mac. Finally it seems you'd be the guy to create the market-leading, paid-for e-book on this camera and what you can do with it. Thank you very much.

we share the same last name and I worked as a Wedding Photographer pro for 33 years but retired for 22 and have a large variety of digital cameras now and in the past over the years. One of my favorites is the RX 100 IV and today I purchased the RX 100 VII, Began the video last night and now completed it. May view it again and locate the others and see what others show also. So much to learn an not sure what all I will use. Began my career doing movies but never did digital video editing but sure do lots of still images with a variety of programs. Each camera has differences and I like to set things up and just use the tool and that is really required when using a variety of different cameras. Think I will be busy. The image quality of the camera is superb.

This is exactly how I’d like to see a tutorial/review. There are so many channels that just praise cameras by saying it’s an improvement and just give out basic specs such as “It shoots 1080p” or “It has 10x zoom.” A lot of times they just build off of that feature with more praise without showing it’s utilities while you even gave multiple examples of different programs and products to help enhance the experience. This is seriously an amazing tutorial/review even after 2 years. I’m planning on investing on this camera and this video has let me know everything I need to know about it. Seriously, thanks.

I bought this camera yesterday and this video has been like a gift from heaven. The Sony pdf manual is a staggering 634 pages, it would take days to find all the information that's in this video. Now I'm heading to your other videos. I've never seen any other videos that show such high quality images with an easy to understand and clear narration to match. New Sub!

@@Jason_Hermann Hi there. I just got this camera in the mail but when in video mode, I can hear the zoom making a lot of noise as it zooms in and out. Is this normal to be able to hear the zoom in and out on the actual video recording? It seems really loud.

@@Jason_Hermann they should make a biger point and shoot with 400mm zoom, in between the rx10 and rx100. an rx50 would be perfect for a small purse or sg. for casueal wildlife and family use it would be a perfect companion next to an iphone or high quality camea smartphone, with a usable biggger zoom.

I want to just say that I bought a Sony RX100vii a few days ago, and even though I had a head start out of the box because my previous camera was a Sony DSC-HX80, your video was EXCELLENT in quickly and efficiently taking me thru all this camera's possibilities! Really, I'm keeping this video on a laptop tab to refer to from time to time, as I'd forgotten just how many excellent menu features I'd not employed at all with the HX80... and also want to remember all the useful NEW ones available to me now with my upgrade to the RX100vii. Jay, this video is timely! I've recently purchased this camera and all I could find are reviews. Hard to get by a solid tutorial such as this. You've explained the functionality and the application used on this camera with proper impartation of your knowledge & experience. There was this fear of screwing up the camera just by simply exploring the many modes/buttons/functions without knowing anything at all. Thank You, Jason, I am a huge Sony fan, I’ve been using Sony cameras for over 12 years, during 12 years I bought 3 Compact Cameras , 2 Bridge cameras, 1 Camcorder and 1 Mirrorless Camera, I can’t say I knew everything I needed to know about the products I purchased, at least I was familiar with the features I used on each Camera and one Camcorder,but going through your KZfaq video on RX100 VII, I learned a lot, I’ve been debating if I should bring RX100 VII or HX 90V camera to my upcoming Cruise, I decided to bring both Cameras with me to my vacation. Thanks again, Jason, for sure I will look for more of your videos so I can learn more about RX100 VII, the camera, I almost gave away to my sister due to HX 90V has higher Optical zoom , with which I might be able to bring home sharper images of the night Entertainment.

Jason, What a terrific video. I've owned three different Sony RX100's and never really understtod all the features. I've owned the Sony RX100 VII since it was introduced and relied on the manual (big mistake). Thanks to your terrific video, I know how most of the features of my camera works. I look forward to looking at your other videos on this terrific camera.

Just sub’d to your channel! I just bought the new Sony Rx100 vii and will learn hands on tomorrow when it arrives to my house. I am exciting to use this for unboxing, mukbangs, vlogging, pretty much for my YT channel. I do use a GoPro hero 7 black and is wonderful for vlogging. Thanks for the video!

Beyond grateful for this video and I'm sure future videos I'll be watching. Just got my new camera and want to use it this week at a concert. I have been trying to shoot basics the last 2 days, but any suggestions on large arena concert use would be appreciated.

I would probably just leave in in P mode with Auto ISO and zoom in and out as needed taking photos and videos. The lighting is so insane at concerts and changes so much it's hard to say what specific settings to use...

Thank you for all the research and time you put into this video. Although been a DSLR shooter for years, this was new piece of hardware I thought would be great just to keep with me when out and about, and rather using my phone needed something a but more versatile. This seems like a great piece of hardware for what you get for the price. Just my fat fingers have to get use to the small areas. :)
