It really is a great bang for your buck, but Sony's refusal to release meaningful updates gave me a chip on the shoulder regarding them. The fact that the a1 doesn't have focus breathing compensation is simply ridiculous. And the FX line not having shutter angle and open gate when even hybrid options like all Lumix S and the new Fujis do is also a bad joke

I'm still on the a6400, and since the a7iv came out, I've been first looking at that, then at the fx30, and now this seems to be the one to get next. I primarily want to upgrade for higher frames (4k50/100) for 10 bit, and overall a better color science. Am I right with the latter tough? Does the a7iv, fx30 and now a6700 all look a little more natural and overall improved considering color?

What would this be like for videoing birds with my 200-600mm esp 4k 120p. I'm becoming more interested in video than stills but there seems 2 paths - the cheaper path of A6700 or the pricier but better specced option of a Nikon Z8 with the Megadap adapter. It the on board flip out screen a low-res hinderance or is would a portable monitor be a better option? Thanks

More people should be aware of the RAZOR made iPhone cooling fan, that can magnetically be attached to the A6700, eliminating the overheating problem for very little money. I prefer that over the thick, permanent fan on the FX30, because most of the time, there is no need for it.

Do you think this will be fully compatible with the DJI RSC2? Previous a6000 cameras are not but maybe this one is because of all the new tech and USBC? I have asked DJI but they are being a bit rubbish about it.

One thing no one is talking about is they removed the flash. Not that I use it often, but it is always nice to have an on-camera flash.

As a A6400 owner, the Sony A6700 offers a really great value however I'd still go for the FX30 as I'm trying to focus more on video production and the added features like dual card slot, better heat management etc do seem worth spending more.

For hybrid shooters who shoot more stills its a great value! However like you say, I would recommend FX30 all day if you shoot more video!! Defo worth the extra cash. Jake

@@CVPTV certainly! I've been a hybrid shooter for 3+ years now but at this point I feel like investing in different bodies for photography and film. And I live in India where it gets pretty hot during Summer, so don't want to risk it overheating during an interview/project.

The a6700 definitely looks like a good b-cam to my FX30. You pointed out that there appears to be some noise reduction at 2500 ISO on the a6700, much like the FX30. Either way, for the price, the a6700 looks like a great choice.

It's somewhat annoying how Sony still won't give us any 6K recording options. It helps a ton in post work when you don't have time to change out lenses but want to give different perspectives in post. The sensor and processor is capable, just let us have that option.

Question to the hybrid shooters here. How many of you people actually care about the resolution of the sensor? Like do you people actually print your work big or find yourself cropping images significantly? Cuz tbh I'd have liked sony to release a 4200x2800 sensor which would have theoretically faster readout speeds and possibly better DR.

I feel like KZfaqra need to reevaluate their idea of "affordable" and "beginner". If I was a high school student who's interested in filmmaking or photography and see all the videos saying this camera is cheap I'd probably lose interest.
