Very good honest review! I use them with a Denon AVR 5.2 surround system as front and backs. My purchase price was $73 and $118 (because I didn't want to wait for them to drop in price again). Thanks to inflation, the MSRP is up to $233! I also have non-Sony center channel and a subwoofer. I will be adding a second matched subwoofer. Many have complained on these for a lack of bass and need of a subwoofer. I get pleasing results in strict stereo mode, when family objects to bass vibrations throughout the house, by boosting the front speakers for +6db bass. I don't find these fatiguing at all, but I will admit that there are a few recordings where I am tempted to shave -3db off the treble. But for 98% of my listening, I now prefer the Sony's to all the competitors I have tried. My listening room is approximately 25' by 20' and I have no problem filling the room. After breaking them in, I no longer consider them "nearfield" speakers. The base response has only improved over time compared to the out of the box experience.

Just bought a 7.1 system based on this line on sale at best buy for half off. Got 3 sets of these, for front, rears and mids. 500 instead of 1000 for all of the speakers. Already have a receiver I'm happy with.

Bought these for office speakers without a receiver, no idea what i'm doing! ha...Your video was very informative. Love Missy Higgins and Krauss too.

Bought mine used for $75 to replace my polk t15 for my desktop system. Paired with a Fossi audio BT10a amplifier and a Aiyima dac a2 headphone amplifier. Sound is above the the asking price. Big improvement for desktop sound.

I will be using these as the Rear Speakers expect this to balance out the sound with the Sony floor Speakers being Primary front Speakers. Also just picked up the Sub in that Series as well.

I own them. They are great with the CS9 sub, even at retail.

I think you feel the bass at a club or concert, the high frequencies I know I can't hear, party lifestyle in my youth, 52 years old, but they can make the hair on arms raise.

I like the bass whereas the speakers have there own alcove and I am surprised sometimes how the bass goes low and detailed.

Content may be good, but the background music makes it hard to listen to you.

i'm subscribing , I own these speakers they're alright , I just got them to fill in until a get something better like having a ugly ex girlfriend that puts out.

Turn the background music down please. Drowns you out.

Please do not add that heavy bass background music. It hurts ears, and distracts.
