After few days of reading this same ways to solve PROTECTOR / PROTECT error on DN1070 I watch this video, 10min after with multi-meter in hand I found two faulty power transistor - now waiting for package with new one parts :D Update - soon :D

I have Sony STR-DB 1070 which is in working condition but no output is coming in speakers. Its a very old a v receiver. Can it be repaired?

After having it disconnected for 3 or 4 days, it went back to work without having done anything to it. I am placing it in a better ventilated place and removed the self turn-off timer limit because protector mode happened after equipment turned off automatically.

Your receiver needed to reset only. You didnt have a fully shorted components. Check the speakers wires. Or you may have a partial shorted or bad capacitor.

Hi there,I have a str dn1080 which was dropped on the back left side,now it won't power on,I've opened it up and no signs of damage,in your opinion,what do you think may be the problem? Thanks jason

Could be a small crack or bad connection somewhere

@@SOSfixElectronics thanks for your answer but I already checked on AliExpress ( I think it’s the same right?) I can’t find the 5w 022 ohm resistors with 3 points to solder. Do you have a reference please?

is it a 22ohm or 0.22?

check with multimeter the one next to it to be sure

Mine dn1060 is stuck on CLEARING after performing factory reset.. any way to erase the memory other than that in the manual?

My str-dn1070 stuck in “clearing” mode and do nothing else. Any suggestion?

I bought a str dn1070 and the guy before me shut it off before the reset was done and now it just says clearing and power cycles. I changed the 6800uf capacitor on it to see if it would at least stop power cycling but it didn't. just says clearing and power cycles every 3 minutes. what do you think the problem is or problems?

@@SOSfixElectronics lol you funny thats what sony said 100 times. clearing is flashing nothing else works. tried hard reset 10 times. tried pushing all different combinations of buttons also . pushed buttons while I was plugging it in like some tv's you have to. Nothing. no buttons work no nothing. tried putting new firmware on it and nothing.

@@SOSfixElectronics took the voltages on the pwr brd and #6 MHLDCDC was supposed to be 6.2 was only 4.6. I don't know what the hell it is I'm used to working on tv's.

If you have the schematic showing that 6v and you got only 4v. Try to inject 6v using external power supply. And see if the receiver will stay on (I dont have schematic. I m just guessing from what you said) good luck

@@SOSfixElectronics Bluetooth just stop working, i tried resetting it but no fruit, i have ion block rocker ipa76c model, i keep pressing Bluetooth button but nothing happens, plus i opened it to see where the Bluetooth chip is located but still i cant found any chip just a antina wire

@@jasonbourne-gh9fc this is the bluetooth ic in your model, it is little board soldered on the top of main board, (cwtws_m_508_v008B311) check if it is getting hot first is the other functions in your speaker still works? only the bluetooth not work?

@@SOSfixElectronics yes i can see that, its a bit bigger than usual that's why I was asking, it is not heating, little bit Rusty i cleaned up, but no fruit, 😔, other functions are working fine, like radio, am, fm, aux , mic, actually aux has a distortion cant play normal volume 10, 20......is there anything else I can do like replace aux with usb or another Bluetooth ,

@@jasonbourne-gh9fc look closely on the bluetooth board for bad connections or cracked solder joints. And check the vcc main in the bluetooth board if it is existe. Must be 3 to 5v. There is a replacement board online if you want to try it.
