I did all of these things but the tv doesnt reset to factory defaults and if i change settings they are not saved either. Any further ideas?

Thank you so much.. the third option worked for me but I think you should also provide an option of factor reset without remote and directly from the button. This is because sometimes tv is not allowing that much time to go to factory reset using remote and it shuts down before that. But for me it worked thanks alot...

Unplug the TV, press the power button and vol - button on the TV (not the remote) and plug it back in while you hold the buttons down. LED light bar should blink and TV will start back up on the SONY screen. This was the ONLY way I could get my TV working again. BTW these instructions are in the manual that came with the TV incase anyone was wondering.

What happens to mine is that it turns on, the logo shows "Sony" and the TV immediately goes off. I can't even access any settings because it would switch off even before it switches on

Happened to me too. Call Sony technical support, which led to the conclusion that the tv was defective. Brought it back to Best Buy for an exchange, now the SECOND one is turning off and on. At least this time I can still access it

Mine cycled on-off-on every 5 seconds… fixed by good old “unplug/plug”. Remember those days when the Sony name equaled good shit and things were built to last

Turns off after 5 seconds or so and turns on after 1 or 2 seconds. Unplugging fixes it (kinda) but it starts again after maybe 30-40 seconds after plugging in and turning on. It automatically turns on after that period if I don't do it with remote. Tested: - unplug/plug - remote batteries off - all non essential cables off - Bravia Sync off - factory reset which is really annoying to do with this problem going on. - no wifi after factory reset

Same thing here. Last week twice in one day. Thought it was the roku ultra box doing it so I unplugged it every night but it turned on when the roku was still unplugged. I just tried unplugging the tv from the power strip for a couple minutes I'll see if that works. Bravia sync is grayed out might be because I have the auto turn on option off.

I tried every way, Tv Reset, factory reset, auto turn off, idle and timer off and finally ants check. Never worked. Sony still turned off and on. Until I unplug the external streaming tv box and its HDMI cord, then Sony went back to normal.
