Salut Sorin! Este stiuta foarte bine problema la butoanele de pornire de la sony vaio . Detin acelasi tip de laptop care porneste cand vrea el si se opreste cand lucrezi cel mai intens . Binenteles cand vreau sa il pornesc trebuie sa folosesc butonul assist. Adevarata problema este butonul in sine care inchide doua circuite la actionare.

Been watching a lot of these videos very interesting and very informative .. Been into fixing computers usually on a basic level but never got down to motherboard level repairs but want to learn and these videos have been useful in that learning process I actually have 2 laptops that don't fire up I know one of them has a dead component on the power rail side but don't have the gear to remove and replace The second laptop I have sat here is an Acer laptop there is an orange light appear but that's about it pressing power does nothing and the power button is part of the keyboard and runs on the keyboard flex so not totally sure what pins to touch to try to fire it up

Did you short the 3.3 to gnd to start it up?

Apart from the broken ribbon connector, this laptop has 2 other issues. The battery is old and NBG, the hard drive is old and NBG. New battery and an SSD will rejuvenate this laptop.

But as by

I don't get it why people still use those kind of laptops. It's so old and very cheap and spending money to get it fix is more expensive than buying a new i3. People are weird.
