Thanks for the review. One of the big features I’m interested in is the quick connect feature, which Sony claims will start up the unit and allow it to connect to CarPlay very quickly. Did you find that the time it takes for the unit to turn on, find and connect to your iPhone/CarPlay was faster than most other units?

It’s definitely faster boot time. In my opinion one of the faster boot up times from any unit I’ve had

FYI: The latest firmware from Sony allows you to change the analog clock on the home screen to digital or remove it altogether.

Your information about having to get an adaptor with an iPhone is incorrect, the new iPhone, 11 promax and 12 and 13 all come with USB cords that have a C end and a lightning end.

My iPhone 13 Pro Max with the current system update and my Sony is currently up to date firmware, my wireless CarPlay keeps disconnecting. With maps and sound and everything. How do I fix this?

I have this stereo and I love it. The only thing I don't really get is the forced analog clock that you can't get rid of. Like, let's release a nice, modern stereo with all the latest features and innovate! Oh, but let's also force an old timey looking analog clock that you can't remove. ???? What was the thought process there. Maybe they'll let us remove it in a future firmware update...

how is the wireless carplay reliability? i’m also looking to install this to my 2007 es 350 but i’m concerned about no wired functionality if wireless is bad.

@@braxtonscarbrough5713 I find it only failed when I was starting and shutting the car off too quickly. After all it’s a computer. It does have the wired option. I just asked my installer to put it in my middle console to keep things neat. I only plug the phone in if it’s a long drive. Anything shorted than 15-20 min the phone stays in my pocket.

@@ahmadaddurobii recently just got the car do you know if there’s a way to run wires through the center console while keeping it closed? when it’s open the latch to it will slide around when braking/accelerating

@@braxtonscarbrough5713 it works both wired and wireless. Steering wheel controls working perfectly and Tint World did mine. I asked them to route it to the middle console and they got the usb C through the whole where the AUX used to be
