I will put my ZV5 up against any jl sub. ZV5 10 in a custom box in a sq build.

Zv6 all day. They sound very good in the right enclosure. They also hit tremendously harder. SQ front stage with a brutal sub stage

Nah I'd rather have the Sundown.... If it's one verse 1 "I got to feel it on my chest" now if it's multiple subs, I'd go for JL all day! & It would take three JL's for the equivalent BOOMQUAKE to one Sundown!

The sound quality on the w7 is good for the year 2000 the sundown would be my pick especially for the price and the sound quality is great for what it is actually but I'd rather get an idmax or something from digital design to replace the jl.... jl needs something new for the current time cause this woofer is a waste of money in 2024

I used a JL audio loc 22, half the price, worked fine on my wife's 2014 Jeep Trailhawk, using the stock radio. I just tapped into the factory subwoofer wires in the rear, (2) Skar evl 8's, in the skar pre-fab box for 10's and a Sundown sfb 1500 It sounds amazing!!! Only thing I wasn't getting a full range signal, just a crossover signal off the factory amplifier. It still sounds amazing.

With a subwoofer comprising of a motor coil spider basket and surround. Why does the JL have such a better quality of sound in many opinions? The box? The amplification? Better components? Do most people not have the power to run the sundown properly? I’m new.

Both. All subwoofers are great in there own way and own price range. Even the budget subs in a quality enclosures and recommend RMS can sound great and be loud for what it is. I can make a kicker comp single 10 slam in the low 30s. Most people that trash talk a company, it's actually on them for choking it out in a garbage enclosure. All subwoofers can slam in the right enclosure. For sure these big boys will be louder. But you can get great sound and volume out of a budget set up that's all Im Saying. God bless

U will need at least 1khz to have this "epic center" to work properly.. As for those who already have dsp installed with merely 250hz in subwoofer rca output, then this item is going to be pointless

I REALLY WANT TO HEAR THAT SUNDOWN ZV6 12" IN PERSON! I own a JL-12W7 and JL-HD1200, and it's the best I've ever heard and owned to date. HOWEVER, I really want to hear that Sundown because it looks impressive AF!

Sundown all day. With the right box and tuning you can make that sundown sub either sql or spl. Or you can build a box that put the sub in the middle of both right in the sweet spot of sql and spl.

Sundown. I want bass don't care about accuracy much in a sub.
