Guys, the autofocus and tracking by itself set this device apart from anything out there. I was shooting burst action shots of kids jumping into the pool/catching balls today, the results are amazing. The fact they're adding tracking and af to the periscope lens is amazing. I can't wait to upgrade and have 5g and 120hz, brighter display and better low light /hdr performance. You have to use it to understand it. You'll get candid and fast shots you just can't on other devices that might excel in computational still photography. Oh and the current 120fps 4k is pretty rad too.

Thanks Kohki - in your next video please could you let us know if this screen is now bright enough to set your exposure when outside on a sunny day? The v2 screen gets pretty hard to see in direct sunlight and it would be great to know that sony improved this for us in the v3.

Thanks for this first look. I'm pretty sure this is a great camera for content creators like you and I. But as a freelancer a phone also needs to be reliable in regards to communication. How is phone call quality and reception? Have you experienced any hang ups or other bugs? Most phone reviews nowadays only concentrate on the camera unfortunately. I do want to get this phone, but I have no clue how reliable Sony phones are in regards to their intended usecase (i.e. being a phone) and in terms of software. I definitely would have showed a close up of the phone first before diving in because there are so many fake videos out there with photoshopped thumbnails. I didn't even know if you actually had the phone till you started talking about the cameras. The only way I could kind of tell was the frosted glass back.

great vid, glad to see one in english! but in the follow up, please test - the 360 audio to see if it is actually legit and not just a marketing scam. i am not sure if you have the xiaomi mi 11 ultra or the rog 5 ultimate, but a comparison between those two phones and the xperia would be great to see if the xperia 1iii speakers are better than those two phones. -can you also review the battery life and let us know how fast the wireless charging speeds are? Sony does not mention how many watts the wireless charging is at. when testing the battery, it would be great to know how the battery survives under heavy load with max brightness and 4k 120 on so we can get a good idea of what the battery is like when under heavy use -also can we get a better look at the selfie camera since that was one of the xperia 1ii biggest downsides; i hope they improved it this year. it would be awesome if you can go deeper into this for us folks who do use our selfie camera often. also the video quality of the selfie camera would be appreciated! - can you record 4k60fps on all of the camera lenses including the front facing camera? -can you also see if you can switch between the 16,24,70, and 105 mm lenses while shooting a video? just to clarify, I would like to know if when I am recording, if I can swap between the lenses. thank you, you earned a sub!

I thought your video was very interesting ,my redmi note 7 is on its way out so was looking into different phones.. i noticed Sony phones have better battery life too.. been unlucky with my Xiaomi phones since its literally a battery eater yet for other people may not have that issue.. i wanted to ask you if you had to choose between the phone in the video or a Xiaomi mi 11 ultra (which i don't have) ,great specs you get everything minus headphone jack and i don't think it's expandable memory but you do get alot up to 512gb i think , you also get NFC and IR blaster which the Sony Xperia doesn't have .. only NFC .. so what would you choose ? Not trying to be "that guy" but this is an overview. A review requires an insight to your experience using the device whichever way you decide to use it. An overview is brief of its capabilities. I see that you are a photography centred channel. I like that. Please whatever you do, don't dumb down your experience to the "average" consumer. There's a lot of modern artists (content creators, photographers, amateur film makers) that follow your content. I'd always like to know how this fits into the lifestyle of us. So many times "the best camera is the one you have on you" has been so true with just my phone. What I'm saying is, "How can this phone accommodate that lifestyle" is a question that you can answer with a lot of depth coming from a DSLR background. can you see anything on the screen out in daylight or for that matter in sunshine ?? With the Xperia 1II you can only use the screen on an overcast day, so it is not worth much to take pictures with outside, especially not even if you are quiet in the menus

I just heard about a mind bending price of around $1300. That would be so steep. Nevertheless, this phone is packed with features. The photography and cinematography ones have been stated already but there is so much more. Gaming features like 120 fos recording, streaming and other stuff like eq to make important sounds stand out. Contrast that lets you see better in the shadows, etc. Music is delightful with the ldac working through the 3.5mm headphone jack and Bluetooth. The only 4k 120 hz oled screen on a phone, and so much more. Can't wait to get mine in purple!

@1:54 "its also IP65 dust and IP68 water resistant" you should look up what that IP designation means - the IP1-6X(first number) is the particle (dust) resistance, and the IPX1-9K(second number) is its water resistance. Basically - being IP68 makes the IP65 redundant as it is same standard but better grade.

Some requests for the next video; - Demonstrate speaker loudness, - Is there an option in settings to reduce screen resolution to 1080p to save battery (I know you can reduce frame rate) - Perform some kind of battery test on internet surfing on 4G data, and give all the details of that test (brightness setting, refressh rate setting, dark mode setting, resolution setting, if available) and how much battery it drains. (1 hour, 2 hours, or the best test: surf until it dies on you) - Better yet, do two tests, one with the highest settings possible, and one with the lowest settings possible.
