Xperias charge slow up top even without battery care (that feature kicks in independently of the wattage on the charger, it's for when you leave your phone plugged in). It's part of their battery durability strategy, with batteries on Sony devices lasting overall a long time. My current Xperia device is around 3.5 years old and battery health is at a respectable 83%, it does not discharge quickly, and can last me at least one day with moderate use, even more with light use.

But not worthy when it comes to battery degradation. I highly doubt that iPhones can maintain over 90% battery capacity after a year and a half worth of usage, but an Xperia XZ Premium from 4 years ago still has over 80% battery health according to the vast majority of those users in reddit.

@@davidreyes8581 its true. watch on youtube when they announced the phone. xperia phones are not the worst, 4k panel at a 120hz refresh rate at the same time, a feature samsung, apple, etc don't have yet. and the uninterrupted 21:9 aspect ratio is very beautiful if you are the type of person that values the content of your screen. you can say worst to their marketing because their price is high, but their phones are excellent. but if you are on trends you'd probably prefer punch holes, notches, etc. and after a month or two you switch to another preference. sony is sony.

@@mathewm3073 It is turned off, but there's a hardware battery care that doesn't get bypassed. It's only 30watts during the first 50% and slows down the wattage as the % goes higher. The time would be much slower if battery care was turned on.

I think you need to update Sony cable as it seems they continue used the old one which is not enough to maximize use the 30W. By the way, when I get used to my OnePlus, I don't want Sony any more considering charging speed. 1:50 is face palm. Awesome video though, thanks

The cable does not have a problem and it is not slow. All that is, is that Sony has a special program for its batteries and system, and the system deals with it above 60 percent, only that happens.

I always like your videos. I don't know if its just me but it makes me dizzy every interval when you circle de battery on the phones with your hand. You really should stopping doing that, it's not necessary and adds nothing to the video. Keep up the good work.

and There is something called power management, and there is a processor and a software system that intervenes and manages the speed, for example, Sony takes a long time in the last 10 percent. If it was faster, it would have achieved fast access in a fast time

I have been watching your videos for sometime, and I enjoy them, But the way you measure phone temperatures it's not the most accurate. You should measure temperatures against glossy surfaces. Those thermometer work better against dark and mate surfaces.

It's not supports 45 watts charging. I think 1 hour 15 minutes is a decent speed. Because I am using Huawei P40 PRO with 42 watts charging and still it's take minimum 1 hour 3 minutes. So don't go just for numbers.

@@adritbothra your phone might get hot when charging, so the phone slows down the charging speed. It happened with my S20 FE 5G with 25w charger but that doesn't happen anymore when I put phone cooler on the phone while charging

Did you even watch the video? He did turn it off. The problem is he CANNOT turn off Qnovo Adaptive. That thing that makes the charge slower for battery health.

I thought Sony's battery was supposed to withstand more heat then the samsung one because better battery build quality? If that is true doesn't that make the temperature readings useless? (Except maybe for how hot it feels in your hands)

Please check their discharge rate right after they hit 100%. My OnePlus if removed after hitting 100% discharges twice as fast. If put in the plug for the hole night goes 2days.

Charging faster isn't always better, especially for the health of the battery. This is the reason Apple and Sony phone batteries stay good after years with minimal degradation

So how tf is the sony charging slower when the charge rate is faster and the battery is smaller? Software, everything works as intended. Samsung doesn't care if you have to replace your battery if it's very degraded after the warranty runs out. Then again I don't understand why they would even put 30W charging in the phone, if they then don't use its full capability...

Charging number must be more of a gimmick to phone manufacturers. My 25w charging on my s22 isn't any faster then my 15w charging on my s10. I know the s22 has a slightly bigger battery but the 25w should still over take the 15w
