I love how sony didn't add the notch

It's insane how everyone says Sony's speakers suck. They might not be as loud as others, but at least they don't sound tinny and the different frequencies don't blend in.

Sony needs to make their own chipsets and call it Sony x series

I've just ordered the Sony. Been watching a few comparison videos lately and the Sony is definitely a standout to me. I just hope the Alpha tech lives up to the hype.

And Sony has a tool-less SIM tray. That was the deal-breaker for me when I got the Xperia 5 ii. Good to see they carried it over.

Xperia series have almost all features of which flagship phones have ditched: expandable memory, water resistant, 3.5 mm jack, high dpi display, good camera, etc. But damn the price.

Sony is not lying... they say speed is everything and this look promising and the speaker i like both speaker i need those both to listen at different timing of the days I prefer sony at night u know fron facing stereo speaker so good as I could hear nicely at lower volume so that my neighbors wouldn't hear🤣... I couldn't afford both.i am happy to have either one of these but if I wanna get one myself I would try sony.headphone jack SD card slot😍. I don't know why other company remove them, it couldn't be complete to be a flagship phone without them.why midrange and budget phone have them and not flagship except sony,and Samsung remove headphones jack from midrange too😒.good job sony.i love having all sound accessories in my car equip with sony i just want the phone next.i have samsung phone though right now gaming on Samsung phone of comparable price and spect with other company is just not quite good.i don't prefer Samsung phone for gaming.

specs aside, sony is easy to live with. Good to know they improved in major areas they were somewhat behind, but since the xperia 1iii, sony is the phone to go for. if you don't mind the extra $$

I own the Samsung S22+ and I really like it and I thought everyone abandoned headphone jack and SD card. If I knew the Sony didn't I would have gone for the Sony because I like that freedom with memory and being able to charge while listening from headphones. Also not super healthy with Bluetooth so wired headphones are great in many situations. Definitely something I think more people should support so kudos to Sony for keeping some wishes from users intact. No one asked to get rid of SD card or headphone jack. They just do this to push sales on other crap like dropbox services and their own wireless headphones. Just saying us consumers need to vote by not buying the things that go in the wrong direction. That is all we can do so I must say Sony won this test, still 2 great phones and I am still happy with mine.

The Xperia is such a good phone that even Samsung had to ditch the traditional round curves of its Galaxy phones to make the S22 look like a Sony 😆

TBH, when it comes to heating issues: Almost all smartphones under the same SD Chipsets act the same. It will be only fixed once android version updates have been rolled-out on a later time. Majority of phone's heating issues can only be fixed by a software update/s from time to time. Reminds me of my old Xperia Z4 from Japan it has abnormal heating issues, but it was revealed that almost all phones using the same chipset (SD810) acts the same. From Sammy's, LG, Google Pixel, OnePlus, and other brands too.

Love this review. The only thing I can say about the Sony, is that there is significant reports of overheating, and their software support really sucks. I would be the Sony wins in the app tests because it's clocked faster, hence the overheating.

i am a samsung user but after i used it in a week and years there are so many bugs in update unlike sony this is a very high end phone! love the sony company

I always like the simplicity of stock android, superb camera, and performance that really long lasting from Sony...I used Sony since Z2, Z5 Premium, XZ, XZ1, and nowadays I used Xperia 1...never disappoint me even once, only the down side for xperia 1 is no 3.5mm jack and separated power key and finger print sensor unlike its predecessor..the rest is snapdragon 855 still strong for today

My last Sony was (sony erecson) K750i back in 2015. It was beautiful back then with slider camera cover and two way camera button.

I was a Sony fan, I had the Z1, the Z3+ and various Walkman cellphones but, now with the reviews and overheating issues I'd like to hear an honest opinion just to buy the Mark IV or wait for the Mark V.

The Sony Xperia is made for people that do photography and want a phone that acts more like an old car with a stick shift and a clutch. The Samsung is nice and works great but I've already seen enough issues with them ramping the CPU down just to deal with all the applications they can carry. But regardless if you just need a good phone the Samsung is a real nice piece. But if you're looking to do more and you want to have expansion of a microSD so you literally have a computer in your pocket then you definitely want to go with the sony. They're a little more expensive but they are worth it in the end. I haven't Xperia Pro I which did cost a hunk of money but the equivalent Apple phone was only 200 bucks cheaper. But ever since I went with Sony I haven't ever looked back. Much better quality for photography which is where it counts for me considering the business that I'm in.

Sony has a small width. However, if you attach a smartphone case, it will fit in your hand lol.

Samsung's. note 20 and s22 ultra designs look like Sony's Xz premium... without headphone 🎧 jack.. 😂 One of the greatest phones on Planet

hi, from other users I read that the sony has an overheating problem during use of the camera and during use with a 120Hz screen refresh, have you noticed these problems?

While thumps sound more appealing off of the Samsung, contiguous frequencies often blend together resulting in audible losses of notes. 🎶

Sony makes great phones but they are quiet expensive. I'm watching this video from my xperia m5 an its camera and the speaker is great.

As a samsung user, i say that sony is much much further away from the rest of all other brands... I had an xperia 1 (mark 1) and i regreted changing it for the samsung s10 5g... The display on the xperia was just too much for a phone

Sony phones are targeted selected group of pro ...I love the phone but software and updates doesn't come close to Samsung and iPhone ...and Sony overheating issues is such a pain...with all it's camera capabilities it can't even shoot 4k video for 5 mins straight without shutting and complaining of overheating issues ...and no matter how nice and packed the hardware is ..it will never appeal to most people the way phones like Google pixel computational and Ai photography works

3:15 Yikes that flickering on the Samsung. I don't think I would want to stare at that screen for too long. You can see much more visible flickering on the Samsung compared to the Sony throughout the entire video. Sony did really well for battery life considering it's running on a 4k display. It has the same speed performance as Samsung only it kept the headphone jack, SD card slot, notification LED, no notch, and has a much more natural camera. Speakers are louder on Samsung, but it sounds more pleasant on the Sony especially since it has front dual facing speakers with better bass. Would definitely pick the Sony. Only downside is the price but I usually would buy it on sale anyways. Edit: for those commenting you can't see the flickering in real life, I'm well aware, but just because you can't see it doesn't mean it's not there. For some people who are sensitive, it can cause headaches and eye strain after staring at it for a while. Almost all OLED screens have flicker, but different manufacturers set the flickering rate (PWM frequency) at different levels. Samsung looks like it's set lower here than the Sony as seen with the camera.

When I had my xperia Z1s, actually went through 3 of those, traded in for an s Galaxy, I felt it was such a downgrade getting a newer phone.

The shutter lag on my Samsung (note 20 ultra and all previous ones before it) is such a negative to its camera performance. It might have great specs on paper and be able to do clever AI stuff to the photo it takes, but i frequently mis the shot I wanted as it doesn't take the photo quick enough when pressing the button. The Sony seems to have no lag whatsoever

I actually thought that Samsung easily beats Sony on almost everything, but when it comes to the video part, Sony's definitely did a better job at recording audio(cancelling more noises) while the Samsung are noisy. Realy cool comparison

I am using Samsung Galaxy Note3 Snapdragon version for years. If my phone gets broken, I would choose Sony. I want Apple 11 Pro Max since it is last iPhone does not overprocess the photos but I am Android guy unfortunately. Pixel 6a was my first choice but it does not have MicroSD card slot. I can use adapter for 3.5mm jack but external slot is unforgettable since I do have songs over 80GB.

The funny thing is that no one in these tests mentions that most Samsung phones have problems with the Antenna and a very poor range. And that's an irreparable hardware problem.

I'd go for the Sony because of performance micro SD card gaming I don't care about the speaker when it comes to videos I mainly just use headphones and if my headphone dies it's no issue I can use the headphone jack to continue watching videos and also the display it's impressive it's 4k which brings more colour for the screen and cameras I really don't care because I don't take pictures unless I'm on holiday

Sony som používal už od začiatku . Rád počúvam hudbu a mali veľmi dobrí prehrávač . Ale žiaľ čím ďalej v poslednej dobe , nič nové nevymyslel. A keď niečo nové tak extrémne drahé . Po dlhých rokoch som prestal používať Sony . A musím povedať že xiaomi je na tom lepšie ako Sony (a to ich mám 2). Kúpil som si Samsung galaxy s10+ a môžem povedať že lepší telefón som ešte nemal .

Ill pick Galaxy Note 20 Ultra because it support expandable storage. Unlike the newer Galaxy S22 Ultra that not support it.

Sony it's not just faster but it has some hardware details that makes the difference, such as Bluetooth aptx/aptx-hd, Ldac, that runs at 24 bit, including the jack 3,5 under a real DAC 24 bit per channel, native music player that runs HR files , plus native App from the division of Alpha Sony, professional video and camera, definitely Sony it's into another level

I'd take the Sony, without hesitation. Samsung hasn't convinced me to stay with them, long term.

S22 Ultra for me as it has Spen functionality and more camera features too , but 1 Mark 4 is simply great though 👍 except its price.
