I don't think you are being too petty about it. Your frustration is legitimate. But also, it does feel like a bit of grass is greener on the other side. I would recommend you sell your 1 iv for a Chinese camera phone like the Xiaomi 14 ultra, oppo find x7 pro or the vivo x100 pro +, which should come in the next few months.

Nah, if you don't like a product jump ship. There is no reason to hold a torch to a company that could give a better product but seems as they don't want to. I did have a Q. about the mkV tho how is the sd card reader? Can it now write 4k 60fps? 120fps? Transfer speeds? You dont have to answer here I can wait for content.

I personally don't foresee myself using Xiaomi or the others as my main device, though I'd be happy to review them if given the chance. I have not once used the back camera of all my iPhone devices starting from the 2G up to my current 15 Pro Max. At most maybe a photo or two, and that’s it. As for being a great open for audiophiles, I prefer listening music in the comfort of my home at the drawing room or my bedroom and on my turntable - I hate using earphones!

It's actually my girlfriend's Olympus! She has a couple cameras of varying size and tier, whereas I only have the A7IV and phone. I almost never take my A7IV out anymore. It's just not usually worth it for me for street shooting. I like to try and stay low profile, and not look too much like a tourist haha. So these days the A7IV is only for paid and portrait stuff. That's why I desperately want a better telephoto for Xperia. It's usually the only device I have with me. I did just do a new video on the 1V + the Moment 58mm telephoto lens, and that setup is amazing. Decently more bulky, but amazing quality for what it is

Thanks for watching! To be honest I don't recommend the Pro-I either. The screen is incredibly dim, to the point that taking photos outside isn't fun. It also has a worse chipset and updates will end soon if not already, sadly. I'm hoping they release an updated Pro-I MK2 of some sort

You'd definitely regret getting the Pro I. Amazing device in the winter time. It will overheat 95% of the time in 95⁰ weather 😢

Thank you for watching! The 1IV had the same telephoto setup, so sadly also bad imo. The 1III was slightly different, and instead of physically moving at every focal length, had two set telephoto lengths. Slightly better, but again, way behind the competition. Like I said, awesome tech on paper, but in reality it yields sub-par results, and you're basically paying a premium to get it which I think is lame. Maybe one day the tech will evolve enough to make it worthwhile, but I don't think now is that time.

I've not used the 5V personally, but I do just feel it's the better way to go compared to the 1V. I see a lot of people defend the 4k screen on the 1 line, I just don't think it's very worth it though

@@ShibiChan absolutely for me it's awesome to see what tech is in the home market I really believe Sony will probably add the 48mm option, looking back to the IV they continued to improve performance and they still keep it working well today. The IV camera got a lot better over time. Out in the field tutorials I find super helpful as real world usage is where all of us are ultimately heading .

@@tiagomachado5360 it's a fantastic phone , mine has been very reliable since the latest firmware update. I did experience the over heat issue when I first got it. Now I've not had that happen at all. The camera performance on this is slightly different to the 1V but as Shibi demos it's not a quantum leap. The low light performance is better on the 1V from a hand held point but tripod the IV and tweak you'll be very happy. The phone is very stable, I've not had any freezes or shut downs . I'm back using my IV a bit more and enjoying it , as my V is in for repair since the last update it bricked.and did not recover . I don't game but listening to music and watching movies on it it's very good. Hope that helps!

1) You cannot switch the camera to the selfie camera while recording 2) You cannot take a single shot while in the burst modes, no matter how quicky I press the shutter it seems to take at least 2. You can export individually afterwards 3) I couldn't find any exemptions in the actually battery saver feature, though maybe going to the app settings and choosing unrestricted for battery settings might have an effect. I rarely use the battery saver mode so I'm not 100% sure if that would affect it enough to matter Thanks for watching!

Yeah I agree with most of your points. I only had a handful of times that the 1IV gave me problems, and in those scenarios the iPhone 13PM was also giving me problems as well (overheating, camera app crashing). I will say the 1V hasn't even given me a heating symbol yet, so I feel much more confident recommending it in that regard. Also been a Sony fan for a long time, but I refuse to continue being a guinea pig for these half-baked "innovative" features. Not going to pay a premium to be a beta tester, should be the other way around lol. Either way, thanks for watching! I think ur kinda miss a little point. The phone is for photographers who can process their photos independently. Great photos are post processed.

@@janjamesramos247 Exactly and that's what samsung and few brands do. You get a RAW and a AI processed image on one click. For quick post if you happy with AI processed you can use that. And for that great picture, you can post process the RAW. And like its said : All photographs are accurate. None of them is the truth. 😁

I hated the telephoto on the 1IV as well. I don't think there is any hardware improvement between the generations, maybe slight software tweaks. It's totally okay to like it, and there may be tangible quality control differences between our models. Mine is made in a totally different country after all. Maybe I have unrealistic expectations, but I can't seem to like the tele on the 1IV or 1V

Definitely, my 1III was also miserable. It was never a problem I had with other brands, only the 4k screen devices from Sony

Funnily enough, I think Sony made a public statement admitting that they could give the 1V the 2x zoom but is choosing not to because they don't want to. Also my tele hasn't improved at all. I'm almost 100% sure that it's a hardware problem with my device. I've seen some 1V users that get much sharper results than mine, and I've seen tons of people complain similarly to me. So I think it's a quality control thing sadly.

@@ShibiChan I did test the 1V in a store yesterday and I can confirme that the Telephoto lens are really bad and have noise even in good light .. it is very sad the phone was perfect in every other aspect I liked it a lot but Im someone who take a lot of photos specialy using zoom so it was a no for me.

Sharp's Aquos R8 Pro here in Japan utilizes a full one inch type 24mp sensor I believe, and crops for zoom. Blows the Xperia out of the water imo. I guess my biggest problem is that Sony charges so much for this experience, and I'm just kinda tired of it. Likely going to get an iPhone 15PM as a second phone then just keep one android and the newest iphone. We'll see! Thanks as always for watching!

I went into a store intending to get a 15 pro but was also incredibly underwhelmed by the results, so I don't think I'm going to be picking one up myself. I'll just have to find some other funky androids to try out. And maybe that's the thing, I think my standards are just too high. It feels like you're trying to put words in my mouth. I've stated in several videos how I adore Sony's approach to their camera software and image processing. There are plenty of other third party apps that offer what Sony does in terms of camera control, just with a different UI. As for your comment about it being about the person behind the camera, I don't really follow why you're including it in your comment. I make a healthy amount of side income through portrait photography as well, so I like to think I'm not a shit photographer. For what I dislike, you can see in the examples I provided that there is very poor handling of light sources especially in lower light conditions, producing streaking, especially horizontally. Really with any pronounced light source in frame. My main gripe is being charged premium prices higher than that of the competition, some of which provide a better optical experience. You're free to disagree, but your comment comes off as trying to defend a company who, at the end of the day, will never know or care who any of us are, and is just after your hard earned money.

Just to make sure I'm understanding your comment, you're saying we should accept whatever is given to us and be happy about it, regardless of how much better it could be, simply because the sensor is in a smartphone?

OH, you have actually replied to me under another video. yeah, battery is garbage I hate it. And the only good things about S22U are the screen and camera block. Exynos is an absolute garbage. At rest, I wake up at 7 AM, and at the 15 PM I have ~35% of my battery even if it lies down on the table. Only Instagram and Telegram are running most of the time, Telegram is sleeping. It tends to reboot itself from time to time, I have glitches on the screen, especially when I play video (mostly in Whatsapp, Telegram and Brave), Instagram for example is fine. The modem is also garbage, it can get stuck in EDGE if you go downstairs somewhere, and it never goes back to 4G/5G for example. Connectivity is bad in comparison with my enterprise iPhone 13 Mini. Also, it can reboot when I hand up the phone (S21U actually did the same sometimes) or I can lose both mobile network and bluetooth with no reason randomly while walking on the street. But this battery life kills me the most. I can get about 4.5-5 hours of the screen time from it. How do you like shots from the main camera especially at the night?

@@DmitriyDarkJoney keep in mind I had the xperia 1 v for around two weeks, now I switched to Xiaomi 13 pro where I think I'll stay, especially since it costs me 300 euros less. Back to s22u vs Xperia 1 v, you'll lose s-pen, more stable and better supported software long term(I didn't have bugs in my month of use )and the 10x telephoto. Also around 30g, which trust me makes the difference. You will gain over all better cameras, better battery life, fancier but more complicated camera controls, lighter less bloated software(honestly didn't care about this one). Oh also alright headphone jack and SD card. And flat screen, very nice. Specifically battery, xperia charges a bit slower, but it's bearable until 80% after that it's worse. As sot, I was getting Max 7hrs sot with battery saver,120hz fhd and nearly all apps on deep sleep on s22u. For Sony, 7-8 hrs watching 4k content and everything turned on was the minimum. YMMW but yeah Sony did well on battery this year. Main camera at night gives you good results, no complaints there. Definitely the processing is better than Samsung on s22u, raws were annoying to be edited, Sony gives you consistent results. That said I hate to say it but Xiaomi is on another level, especially on the telephoto, like we're talking Max iso 12800 vs 1600 AND a bigger aperture and sensor AND smaller minimum focusing distance (Sony main is still good despite technically smaller sensor, but not better imo). Sure Sony color science is technically better, but Xiaomi and Leica did a good job, can't deny that. And even if it fucks up, raws are behaving better than Sony (which was already better than Samsung, albeit noisier)

Sony may research and develop great tech, but just about every other company seems to utilize that tech so much better. It's sad, but it is what it is honestly

If you know what you're doing, you're going to be shooting raw and relying on the hardware given while doing the post processing yourself. And Sony is sadly choosing inferior hardware while charging a premium at the same time. Miss me with the "rEaL pHoToGrApHeR" comments

Being a professional photographer has nothing to do with the fact that the 85mm on my device is trash. I've seen nice shots with the Xperia telephoto as well. When Sony markets themselves as the phone for photographers then yes, I'm going to weigh my opinion heavily on the cameras lol. There are definitely things I like and it's a reason I still have the phone now. What makes Sony's Music app better than any mp3 app on the app store? Why can't I download and make my own playlist with any other app?
