I like how in the span of a couples minutes both young Sonya and Johnny separately talk about their their respective father's and how they each idolized and where influenced by them. One in a positive way and one in a negative way. Kinda further shows how meant for each other they are.

Weird...Older Johnny is kind of what Han Solo became in the STAR WARS Legends stories: still the cocky, loveable scoundrel, but now accepts responsibility thanks to growing up and having a loving family. Cassie is even a lot like Jaina Solo!

I find this romance to be more believable than Liu Kang and Kitana. We get to see Johnny go through some major character development. From jerkass movie star prima dona, go through a whole lot of eating crow to earning Sonya's respect. MKX had Johnny and Sonya reverse their roles with Johnny becoming a responsible person to raise Cassie while Sonya being obsessed with her job and vendetta with Kano. "There was a time you cared more about your family than your job." And then there was the ending of MKX that brought them full circle. I think MK11 ruined the dynamic. The Johnny Cage/Sonya Blade romance felt way better than the forced Liu Kang/Kitana relationship.

Idk.. I just liked their development of their relationship in Mk9 rather than Mkx & mk11. They should’ve went a different road with just Raiden, Johnny, and Sonya.

I disagree how you said mk 11 ruined it I feel like it made it sadder with Sonya dying in the first part so Cassie could know what pain was The false hope for both of her and Johnny when young Sonya comes in But then fixing it with Johnny talking to himself and knocking some sense into his young self Showing that he always loved Sonya and his family through and through And then coming circle again how at first Johnny showing true care to Sonya and actually being an adult got him a chance with her at the first place With mkx being he sacrificing himself to try to intersect shinnok beam being lucky with his green powers And here being brave enough to let Sonya hit his”billion dollar face”and then actually apologizing for being a jerk at the end with a date

Unfortunately, the ending with Liu Kang and Kitana ending is non-canon. Liu Kang and Raiden ending is canon because of Aftermath.

In MKx Sonya always being focused on he work led to her and Johnny's breakup but by the end Sonya realizes her mistake of putting her work before her family and rekindle their love this is shown when Johnny says at the end of mk x "she called me Johnny"

Very light one. Comradery than couple, some hints that he did have a thing for her but they never acted on it. I mean in Mortal Kombat Armageddon's opening, he shoves her off the side of the cliff. and it wasnt Shang Tsung doing it dude. It was Johnny.

In the Midway era, in the games they were just friends. In the 1995 movie there was a bit of a ship tease going on but nothing came of it. In the 90's there was a MK comic series that actually did have Cage & Blade as a couple but it was non-canon to the games.

I like young Johnny better than old Johnny. Old Johnny is like a completely different character than Johnny Cage. I like character development but the development should be an addition to the existing personality. I think the old Johnny character is not an addition to the young Johnny's personality, but rather a repudiation of it. IMO that's not a good way of telling a story or developing a fan favorite; consistency with the character's personality is key to making it believable and engaging.
