what exactly the fiber optic cable does? isn't it enough to have the TV connected to "HT-CT150" sound bar through hdmi cable?

I don't have a Sony TV (it's a Toshiba), but the sound bar that I ordered is an "HT-CT150 3D Sound Bar System"

Hi, I bought a sony HT RT3 to use my pc and I can't figure out how to make all the speakers work fine. HDMI won't work because it only has one ARC port. If I try using 3.5mm or spdif optical, it sounds much worse and lower volume than it does on bluetooth. Finally, if I try bluetooth it sounds really good but there's a very noticeable delay in the audio stream. Any idea how I can use the ARC port with my pc? (GTX1070 gpu)

If I connect the tv to the subwoofer using an hdmi cable/toslink cable, can I then connect my cable box to the tv with component cables and get audio from the sound bar/subwoofer using another toslink connected to the SAT/CATV opt in port in the subwoofer?

I just bought rt3 soundbar however it comes with only one HDMI port so ho to contact the tv box with the subwoofer

Hi MOSLEH ALGARNI, you can connect the cable box directly to your TV and change the sound setting so the subwoofer can still output the sound or you can connect your cable box to the analog IN jack using an audio cable. -Erin

Wait, so I need the optical hooked up as well? I just HDMI from the cable box to xbox one, then xbox one to HDMI Sub input, Then HDMI out to tv. IS the Optical really needed as well?

***** Thanks a lot. I have a bigger question actually. When my tv turns off the sound system turns off with it. Pretty sure that's cause the HDMI function I choose. But why does it not turn on when the tv turns on. It's rather annoying.

no, the hdmi is for video and picture together, the ptical is just for audio, the girl in video looks like she knows what she is saying but only from a book, she has no clue

@@alchemicrb hey guy. Sorry if this is an old thread but I have a simular issue with everything turning off with the cable remote. When I turn tv/cable back on with cable remote the sony system doesnt turn on with it. Even worst, the input switches to tv mode and I can't control the volume with cable remote either. Very annoying. I wanted to ask you if you ever figured it out? I'd jus like to turn on tv/cable and listen to tv through sony soundbar system without using both remotes. Anything helps. Thank you

Hi. My HT-CT150 is not producing any sound after we had a sudden loss of power. It worked fine on ARC and it's connected through HDMi. My TV is a Sharp Aquos LC-60LE633U. How do I get it to work again? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Hello and I apologize if this is an old thread but I still have issues from 5 years ago. My unit is Sony Ht-Ct550w. Iv been listening to it all wrong for years because I couldn't get it right and gave up. Here is my set up. ARC on tv to ARC on sony unit. Cable box to cable out on unit. When I turn off cable/tv with cable remote it turns everything out. That's good right? 😎 Now when I turn cable/tv back on with cable remote the sony unit doesn't turn on with it. When I use sony remote to turn it on it switches input to tv. I then have to switch it again to sat/cable input and control volume with sony remote also. I'd like to kno if this is normal. Why do I need 2 remotes to enjoy tv and volume? Thank you in advance ✌

I have an HT-CT150 and just hooked up a newer Chromecast. The TV power button on the CC remote wouldn't connect to the soundbar for power on/off (but worked fine for input). I dug into the soundbar settings and under system, there is an option for auto standby that was off. I turned it on and the soundbar now powers on and off with the TV (older LG).

I have a Sony htc ct150. The sound bar works fine,but the subwoofer its real low.does it mean it's burn?

Hi Jesus! You may adjust The SW (subwoofer) level (highest is +6dB) and increase bass setting. Other than that, the issue must be caused by your source and not the sound bar. ~Sam

Hi, We have a Sony Mini Component System(CMT LX20i) and I'd like to get rid of the mini speakers and hook it up to our Sony AV System (SA WCT100). Since the mini component system only has speaker wires, is it possible to do this, if so, how do I do it?

Hi Liza DeVane, unfortunately SA WCT100 cannot be hooked up to CMT LX20i since they have different ports for connection. However, you may connect standalone speakers to your Mini Component System that uses regular speaker connections for it to work. ~ Lyn

i have the sony x25928672 Ht-rt3 and i only have 1 hdmi output on the back of mine. also what do i do if i don't have the digital output on my t.v.?

video speaker needs to slow down as they are going along for individuals to follow along more easily. Speed of directions too fast and screen shots are not specific enough for individuals that are not familiar with a sound bar or the sound bar remote to follow along. not everyone works for Sony!!!!!

I've always purchased Sony Products, However The Sony SA CT-60 Soundbar, has truly been Disappointing! Used few times, never loud. Connected it recently, No Dice. No Power, Nothing, on any our TV's. I know this wasn't Terribly expensive, but it's a Sony! Should provide more than 20 Hrs of User Time! It's not ur fault, Just Frustrated, Disappointed. Apparently I'm not the only one having this problem. Ty, For Your Time & Assistance! Richard Bird
