Hi Jimmy! I'm very VERY partial to the P51... especially THAT P51! My father built a 3/4 scale Lohle 5151 from aircraft spruce and fabric. But he used the CRAZY HORSE paint scheme. He added "V12 minus 10" as it had a 2 cylinder Rotax! Lol If you'd like some pics... let me know! Love your channel! Thanks for all you do!

A ham radio friend of mine (and an amazing morse code operator) who was a radio guy in the Navy many moons ago claimed that they use to take cookie dough and place it in the waveguide of the microwave antennas and flip the switch up for a bit and make cookies long before the microwave oven was invented. When you talked about cooking a stake in a ultrasonic cleaner it reminded me of that story.
@jamesburns2232

Can you imagine being a short-wave radio operator and on Christmas Eve of 1906, you are listening in your headset to morse code, and you hear Christmas Music being played by Reginald Fessenden using Amplitude Modulation (AM) being transmitted from his transmission tower he built 30 miles SE of Boston, MA. The signal was picked up not only by ham operators but by ships at sea and the US NAVY. 😳

As a child there used to be a Mr. Wizard style presentation at the Chicago Museum of Science and Industry where they placed a corn cob between two plates of a microwave antenna and made pop corn in a few seconds. I always wondered how the presenter didn't cook himself.

Jimmy. As a former ICAS member and airshow photographer, i flown in both. L39 was a kick-in-da-rear. Barrel rolls, climbs, etc. But that tiny back seat and responsiveness of the P51 will give u a free haircut and trim your toenails for free. You'll feel the G's and save $ on laxatives if your pilot pulls out the stops. I recommend the P51. I flew in Gunfighter. But Crazy Horse was also a well-known and loved P51 on the ICAS airshow circuit. Cheers

The WVANG was the very last USAF Unit to fly the P-51 and we retired the last P-51 airframe in 1957. The Mustang at the AF Museum actually came from our Unit but, painted in a different livery.

Here’s a trick for using an ultrasonic cleaner. Fill the ultrasonic cleaner with the recommended amount of water. Use a glass or plastic container with a lid. Pour in a bit of your favorite cleaning solution, add your parts and seal the container. Now place the container in the cleaner and clean your parts. This way you can use different cleansers and not contaminate the water in the cleaner. Not sure if there are any FAA rules regarding types of cleaning solutions are acceptable, so use due diligence.

The hyd fluid level check reminds me of a lot of cars and their transmissions. My son has a 06 Cadillac CTS that to check the trans fluid you lay under it and take a plug out of the side of the transmission. If fluid comes out it has enough. Totally ridiculous.
