Colin is a soft, insecure guy. Ep 5 and ep6 he asks her many times if she feels like he does, unsure if she shares his feelings, unsure of his worth. He's adorable.

I think he is also feeling very insecure because until this episode (episode 6) Pen has not actually told Colin she loved him. This was her first declaration of love to him. We all know she does, but to him, he has no idea. He confessed his feeling practically from episode 4 on several times and Pen has said nothing to him to confirm her feelings. What Pen has done is avoid his gaze and barely communicate/ interact with him and also ran away during their engagement party, then she avoided him for days claiming to be sick...so I think he is feeling all these instances and thinking maybe he is the problem, like maybe he rushed this and she is having regrets. At their engagement party, he even asked her if she had regrets and that he would understand if she no longer had feeling for him. Ugh my poor soft boy! Honestly, why would Colin ever suspect her of being LW ,since LW wrote horrendous things about him, Eloise and many members of his family....so the go to thoughts is that he is what is wrong. I feel so bad for Colin over these past couple episodes because he is obviously sooooo in love with her and is the happiest we have ever see him, but when he is with Pen he sometimes looks deflated and lost, like he has no idea why she is keeping this distance between them. His insecurities that he has had since season 1 are really rearing their ugly head and it is so sad because Pen really should have told him right after the engagement, she had so many moments to tell him, but she kept choosing not to. I understand her being afraid and reticent to tell him, but at the same time, Colin really deserved to know...and to find out like he did....ugh gut punch!

nooo i’m late but loving this ! About Cressida, i understand her trying to become lady W because she basically gave up on marriage prospects at that point. and was trying to avoid marrying an old man. Trying to avoid a life she didn’t want for herself. I feel for her because eloise was A VERY SELFISH FRIEND TO HER. Your friend tells you that she’s being married off to an old man and she’s scared and your response to the whole situation is basically “oof”. She basically used her as a rebound friend and admitted it.

Omg! So happy someone finally said it! She wasn't much of a friend to Penelope and now she's shown she's not a good friend to cressida either. She's very selfish. And did anyone else notice how she was happy for cressida taking the credit to Penelope and asks her to drop whistledown then turns around to cressida later in the episode and gets upset that she took credit. I DON'T UNDERSTAND ELOISE. She only wanted Penelope to write again because she knows cressida will say anything and not feel bad. I just feel like Eloise only runs to Penelope when its to benefit her, her family or doesn't make her look bad. And when she said to cressida "I thought you'd relish all the attention" like bitch cressida literally told you she didn't want to marry that old man. Eloise is one of those friends thats only there for u when she's not in the mix. But once it effects her or her friend needs help or a listening ear she turns her back completely. She's only there for her convenience. Look how long it took her to realize why Penelope wanted to continue as whistledown. Eloise only cares about herself idk. I'm hoping she has some growth.

@@MandaT0216 While I agree with some of this, I have to disagree with a bit of it. Reading really hurts me because she's my favorite character especially before when she was Pen's friend for values and intellectual reasons. Also her sass but what is a character without flaw? If you watch a compilation of their moments, she does enjoy being around Penelope a lot. They could pore over new books and bond with their intelligence. I really don't like how they made her this bad this season but I hope she grows. They really do have a lot of fun together and it can be seen in Season one a lot. Pen loves her and Eloise does love spending with her they seek out each other at every ball. I think she wanted Pen to drop LW because she doesn't want Pen or her family to be in danger now that she's a Bridgerton too. Eloise did not really like Cressida taking credit except for the fact that saves the whole Bridgerton family since Pen is one from the Queen and what punishment she may give if Pen confesses or reveals it. She is now a Bridgerton so they would be all in danger. Why would Eloise like Cressida to take credit, only because it saves them from the Queen but why would she want another to take the credit of her long time friend? She does not like that either but thought that it's safer for the family to not be punished by the Queen if Pen reveals that she is LW and thought that Cressida could save herself from Lord Greer.

@@Rainienuabo I don't completely dislike Eloise there are character traits I like about her. But I'm saying as far as just being a listening ear and actually understanding where pen or cressida were coming. Eloise is quite privileged which there is nothing wrong with that however cressida and pen had to fight there way and actually make risky decisions because neither of them had the proper support like eloise does so she wouldn't understand. I'm not saying I wanted cressida and was happy that she took credit however I definitely understood why she did so as I understand why pen wants LW to still be a part of her. My problem with eloise is she jumps to conclusions and has all this judgment to put on her friends but never actually seems to listen. Thats my problem with her character. I liked her alot in the beginning however whenever pen was talking about her likes or dislikes or cressida would tell her something important it seemed to go through one ear and out the other. If pen is your best friend then she would've known what pens dream was, she constantly talks over pen or cressida and never listens to what they have to say or cuts them off as soon as its not about her. I will admit eloise has some qualities about her I definitely like however she's pretty bad in the friendship department. But I get what you mean I'm not saying they haven't had a good friendship they've had some good moments but I definitely think she needs some growth especially when it comes to understanding someone you care about. Hopefully we see some growth with how she is as an overall friend in season 4.

Cressida definitely did not plan for the worst case scenario when she decided to claim whistledown. she was only thinking about the benefits she might reap. like putting down tracks in front of a high-speed moving train. The first one with Pen should not be included because she and her family got dragged to filth but I get it that Pen did that because she wanted Eloise to be safe from the Queen thinking she's Lady Whistledown. Literally the ton ignored them and didn't not like them at one point after the Eloise and Colin in the LW papers. I think we have to understand that and instead of walking with Cressida and ignoring Pen when Cressida ripped up her dress, you can see on Eloise's face that she feels bad and feels sorry and it's obvious. She is a bad friend but it's not like she doesn't care for Pen at all. They have been friends for years.

Also I gotta recommend the film Love and Friendship for a period comedy based off Jane Austen's novella Lady Susan that is basically just a compilation of Austen's more savage hot takes that never made it into her published works in her lifetime because Lady Susan has no moral redemption, she's just Gaslight Gatekeep Girlbossing from beginning to end and it's magnificent.

So what the priest is doing is reading/publishing the banns of marriage, which was and is customary in the Church of England. For three consecutive Sundays, the priests in both the groom and bride's home parishes would read the banns as the priest does in this scene, and a written copy is also posted at the church doors. So even if anyone misses a Sunday, they have a couple more weeks to have a chance to read/hear about the intended marriage. Anyone locally who has a valid objection (such as being able to prove it's incest or bigamy or in some other way illegal for the marriage to take place,) can bring their concern to the parish priest, then. The part of the marriage ceremony where they also ask people to speak now or forever hold their peace is kind of similar, like the absolute last stop where they're checking in with anybody who might have a reason to object for religious law purposes. ("BUT *I* LOVE YOU IN A WAY THEY CAN'T! isn't actually a valid doctrinal objection but it will usually put a halt to the proceedings, anyway.) A special marriage license meant that the banns would not need to be read (you get a written dispensation from the Archbishop of Canterbury basically saying 'yeah they're good for it there's nothing scandalous or illegal here') and the wedding ceremony did not need to take place in the morning hours or in a Church of England. (So any hasty or at-home weddings would have a special license.) Special licenses are used a lot in historical romances for quick/private weddings without the three-week wait and public announcements, but they were very expensive and relatively rare (like around only a few dozen might be granted in a year for the whole country.)

@@RainienuaboMickey Atkins is a therapist who has made several videos on them. They are very shady and have listed unlicensed people as professionals. They also list actual therapists and doxx them (literally had Mickey's personal phone number and not her business one) and then said they were unavailable if you tried to schedule with them. And instead paired you with a "BetterHelp therapist." Not an actual, licensed one.

To put it simply, not every therapist on the app is licensed or even have any training. You could be talking to a “therapist” that’s just a regular person offering unprofessional advice for money.

I understand Cressida. She was getting desperate, and pretending to be LW was the only way she could think of to save herself. Considering her parents, it kind of makes sense. But she didn't think things through, and now she's digging her own grave. I do think she deserved better from Eloise, though, regardless of her mistakes. Eloise has a lot of growing up to do, both when it comes to being aware of her own privilege, and also about being a better friend.

So I'm a big fan of Bridgerton, but I have a slight complaint: the show is all about diversity , but do you notice it's basically only about white and black people getting together? Please don't get my message twisted- I know they introduced the Sharmas last year. BUT the girls were both incredibly gorgeous girls and were anglicized if you want to be truly honest. What about Hispanics, Asians and other under represented groups? I swear, this show is reminding me more and more of the Kardashians, especially with the mother getting in on the minority love action. Is that you Violet Jenner, I mean Bridgerton? 12:51 Anyway, I'll keep watching and, as usual, tune in for your hilarious commentary! 😂😂😂

Cressida spoke before thinking the whole "Whistledown" through- if she had, I feel she most likely would have kept her mouth shut! 👍🏼 Also- Lady Featherington didn't know how to care for her girls, but always wanted better for them. 90% OF ALL PROBLEMS COULD BE FIXED WITH BETTER COMMUNICATION!
