There can't be another player like Ray Lewis because they changed the defensive rules. There's flags for hitting too hard and it punishes the defense for offensive mistakes.

The Ravens will always be ray's team. We don't have a statue of him at the bank for nothing. I'm so grateful for the loyalty ray gave to us, I was 3 years old when the ravens were established and 20 when ray retired, this man was a huge part of my childhood, I teared up when he announced his retirement. He deserved that 3rd ring from the 2011 season that cundiff ruined but I'm glad we got him the 2nd ring at least. He deserves it.

Definitely remember him being unhappy once Siragusa and Sam Adams were gone because they made his job a lot easier and threatening to leave in free agency. At the time Dallas was the rumor before he re-signed.

THIS IS WHY (other than Johnny Unitas, who wasn’t technically a Raven) RAY LEWIS IS THE ONLY RAVEN WITH A STATUE OUTSIDE M&T BANK. There might never be another human to walk this Earth that means more to the city of Baltimore than this man right here. Just went and looked at the statues a few months back when I visited my fam in Baltimore. Was the first time I got to see it (Unfortunately I was there 1 week before the start of the reg. season 😅)

As a Pats fan during those times of him playing, I didn't like Ray Lewis but I respected his game. Was the best in the game. He was the face of that organization for his entire career.

I have never thought of this before seeing this interview. Starting from zero may have allowed Ray and the defense to set the tone early and build the team culture that was Ray's legacy. It was a unique opportunity for the team that could have gone differently. They could have created a losing culture that never rose to the occasion but they didn't.

Do you ever remember the first what 2 years in Baltimore. The offense led the team the defense was still soft. That's when the had the dude Michael Jackson. At wideout. The year they played the jets and mccallaster ran it back from the end zone I said they going to win the superbowl and they did that was the 2000 season

Green Bay was a millisecond away from drafting him in 1996 when the Ravens snapped him up. I don't know if he would have stayed a Packer his whole career if that incident at SB 34 still happened, though. I don't know if they stand by him like the Ravens did (that is, if he is still involved in that. Maybe Reggie White has such a profound affect on his life that he isn't in that situation).
