I went on a binge watching people react to Sora's inclusion and this one is my favorite. I can feel the happiness through the screen.

The amount of charm and magic required to get the right people at Disney to sign off on this is staggering.

The moment “光/Simple and Clean” started playing, tears were rolling.

Don't even apologize, I been crying all day, and I'm a 21 year old dude. Sora is everything I been dreaming of since 2007, enjoy it!

And just like that, in the span of five seconds, everyone is a child again.

So growing up with just me and my older brother before he passed, he always let me play video games and watch anime with him. 3 games that he loved to play were DBZ Budokai Tenkaichi 3, Smash, and Kingdom Hearts. He was really passionate about KH for as long as I can remember, and I would sit there amd watch him play for hours on the ps2 (at least a think it was ps2, it coulda been ps3, I was little so I can't fully remember) and he even had a Sora hoodie that he only wore while playing, it had Donald and Goofy on it too. So when I saw the keyblade come on screen, all of the past memories with him just flooded me all at once and I broke down in tears. Congratulations Sora, and thank you Mr. Sakurai.

In the Japanese trailer, Sora said "Sorry for the wait". That would have been better than "Let's go".

I love how KH fans notice Kingdom Key's shape in the fire before they even display the keychain. Its amazing.

This was my favourite reaction so far. No overreating and loud shouting, just tears of joy. As a person who doesnt play a lot of games outside the Nintendo IPs i enjoyed the most DLC characters not because i had a connection to them or really wanted them, i enjoyed them because i knew all of them are someones most wanted character and i can watch reactions like this, where i also might shed a tear.

Don't apologize for crying. I cried too. It had some to do with the final character being Sora, but it had a LOT to do with it being the final Smash character reveal/direct/presentation. It was, indeed, bittersweet.

Also as many have said, no shame in crying. My reaction was the same as yours haha. Had to go silent to keep from cracking :') The feeling in that moment was such a pure thing, and i'm so glad you also got to experience it.

Now I was a little disappointed with the character reveal because I didn’t know him or feel connected to him, but this guys reaction just made me happy. Keep loving what you love people.

I've never played a Kingdom Hearts, and didn't really care when I saw the announcement. But watching your reaction to it, and knowing many other people were moved in the same way, made me feel a fraction as emotional about it as you. And for that I believe it was the right choice.

I keep going back to this trailer and I can't help but shed a tear everytime I watch it. Sora's inclusion in smash couldn't of been any more perfect as a sendoff to the game. The handshake with Mario at the end was what really got me, showing how literally everyone was there. Thank you Mr. Sakurai for everything you've done.

in 2008, i played the smash bros brawl subspace emissary for the first time at my best friend's house. in the middle of the cutscene where palutena sends pit out from the heavens, my friend's older brother walked in and said "yo, is that sora in smash? that's so sick!" and i had to dash his hopes. i'm glad he and i can celebrate this together now

All these years later, I still cry every time I see this trailer.

I feel that Sora's inclusion hit our generation the hardest due to us growing up with him, projecting ourselves on to him and the fact he's just such a generally likeable character. He was born from two franchises we grew up with (Final Fantasy and Disney) which turned out to be the perfect storm. In our minds, he could canonically pass in to other worlds such as Nintendo worlds and now that is practically canon. It's just a dream to see him shake hands with Mario like that too. Our dream character finally came home.
