@@zkdkzs31 At the first episodes there was some mystery around Matt and Mimi, even that they barely interact in every dub, both characters were always together in many episodes, particularly when they split in teams. So sad we never saw their interaction when both were waiting inside the sphinx in the last part of Etemon. Also Matt was worried about Mimi's feelings after Whamon was killed in Dark Masters plot and started an argue with Tai. In Digimon 02 English dub however Matt is having a call to Mimi when she is in USA, but it's only in English dub.

even in the original their interactions where non-existent. The creator just didn't want to have the male lead pair up with the female lead because he thought it be too cliche (same reason TK and Kairi didn't end up together ever) but he never made Sorato work which is why it is so hated. It came out of absolutely nowhere not to mention they kind messed up Sora's character by turning her into some kind of star struck groupie

I always got the idea that Sora understood and could relate to Matt better, even in the English dub. Tai was an amazing character in his own right, but he has a bad history of blowing Sora off and accidentally hurting her feelings. He couldn't relate to Sora's strained relationship with her mom, nor her internal identity struggle. But we see Matt doing so, and we see Sora being the one to notice Matt's own internal struggles/disent into darkness. Tai and Sora connected on the surface; they both played soccor, they've known each other since they were kids...but those are things that make strong friendships not relationships. It's the fact that Sora and Matt connect emotionally (both struggling with the darkness with-in, and with feelings of inadequacy) that made them more compatible. Although I thought there was some real potential for Matt standing aside out of "friendship" and Sora making it a point that it's her choice in the end. And following her heart (aka) "love". Which might have gotten a better reception than just giving Matt the girl. But, eh, it is what it is.

I ship Sorato. Both are protective members.

Even so, at the end of the 2nd season where we see Davis, Cody, (i forgot the other girl's name with pink hair and glasses, it's been so long i haven't watched XD) All the main digidestined becamed adults and yeah Matt and Sora had kids together

monica andrade That's always how I saw it, also matches up with their ages. Sora crushed on Tai at a time when most girls start crushing, but guys can still be pretty clueless (especially since Tai had known Sora for years). But got over it, and slowly fell in *love* with Matt when they got older. Tai started seeing how amazing Sora was and may (or may not have) developed a crush on her, regardless he respected her AND MATT enough to let it go. And Matt equally respected the two of them enough to not feel threatened by their close friendship that they continued to have. "Tai's my bestfriend, he knows how I feel. And I completely trust Sora." They all cared for each other, respected each other, and loved each other. But only Matt and Sora were IN love with each other. And yet the fanbase had to make up for all the drama the show side-stepped by writing mature characters.
