“Collectors” should have got in for alpha beta should be for actually playing the game.

Yes I fully agree base rarity should be available to play (doesn't have to be printed into the ground)

@@WonOneWun every set needs to have a balance between collectability and playability. And they think that too, otherwise they would just do unlimited printings of everything after Alpha. Beta is very collectible too, as Im sure AL will also be.

you are telling me people cant get pre-cons and singles for reasonable prices? A person "learning about the game" would clearly need to get a pre-con.

Welcome to the problem here - what exaxtly are your plans with 1-2 cases of sorcery? After opening one Box, you already got a majority of the commons and 30-50% of uncommons. So if you would open Up all the boxes, you have more lower rarity Cards that you could ever use to play with. If you won't give then away, you are stealing other players the chance to participate. Thats the same fate after buying the boxes to keep them sealed for value - the demand won't saturate on the market because of hoarders like you. Just get a couple of boxes and trade for the cards you really want, so that many players can enjoy the game. Or donate your leftovers at least and really open up all the damn boxes! - a sorcery player with no possibility to get a single Beta Box without horrendous price uptakes in europe

Yea you already know there will be some scumbags who will just sell it for 300 a box. Like the stores that obviously got their store support boxes ( posters, playmats, bone rabble and champion promos for play events) and just sold everything on ebay

Given his usage of the words VERY limited, and limited is already pretty scarce by its definition, i wouldnt count on it being more than 20k boxes and even then that might be estimating too high. I just hope places like Europe gets a better chunk of the allocation this time.

this is a lie. pre-cons and singles are everywhere. That's what I got to learn the game and they are just as available now. That is literally what they are made for.

Booster boxes are running for between 240 and 300 dollars from what I've seen, compared to around 120 for, for example, a booster box of Magic: the Gathering. I didn't claim anything else other than booster boxes are expensive. I would like to have a pool of cards to play around with, building decks and swapping things around as I get a feel for things. That's why I want packs over singles as a new player with just one starter deck to my name. Its fine if you disagree with me about thinking more printing to get more cards in the hands of players is good, but please don't accuse me of lying when I haven't. At best, I might be missing cheaper sources of booster boxes in my search for the price but that's hardly the same as outright lying

You just said people are having trouble getting into a game where the product that is literally made for you to get into the game is available and is inexpensive. So you are clearly lying about those imaginary people as I and everyone I know got into it we pre-cons and than got singles to make the decks more to our style. Your next claim makes zero sense. You said you want packs to have a pool of cards, firstly that means you are not a new player and are into the game already. Secondly you get a pool of cards by buying SINGLES that has ALWAYS been the cheaper option even BEFORE team covenant ran out of boxes. I'm not just disagreeing with you. i'm saying you are outright lying because what you said makes no logical sense.

And while we're at it, in what fantasy world is it more feasible to buy singles of most of the common/uncommon cards in the set to build a pool of cards to work with? I think we're done here, you sound like you have an ulterior motive the way you harp on about singles, some of us are trying to play a game, not start an investment portfolio

They have four preconstructed starter decks for sale that you can find for like $40-50. Card prices are not too exorbitant right now either.

There is a fine line between collectible and unplayable. You need new blood and players or your collection will become worthless.

it will just be collectors buying off each other based on hype until folks realize it is worthless. Get the cards to the people and the value will be supported. I do agree that it should not be many sets a year, but there is a difference between that and making sure the product is on shelves for people in an LGS to pick up and learn.

Let it BECOME collectable. The only thing that is collectable from the start are worthless trinkets from the Bradford Exchange and Lenox 😂

I agree. I had someone bring up Pokémon as a gotcha but they failed to realized Pokémon is the biggest most profitable IP in the world. Sorcery can’t even get 20 likes on Twitter.

I think getting product to reigons that didn't get much support will help grow the game globally. It seems like NA is only getting a small allocation direct to LGS but the lion's share is going to be outside of NA

This would be collector sentiment (short term), but if more are able to get into the game, the game will last longer and demand will grow for beta over time (long term thinking).

Im more sour that theres not enough for more LGS that WANT to play it. Still own cards for game that no one plays in my area. :/

Yeah, maybe for Beta a little bit. Alpha will be the only box having the holy grails. Just look at the price difference between Alpha Philo vs Beta Philo.

Then how about you go out and get games going? Just thinking about how it effects collectors is wild and stupid.

Now that they made it clear that they will print on demand there is no reason for me and others to collect this product. I will still play it but 90% of what I spend on the game was for collecting ,10% is for playing which you do not need much to get cards for your decks. This is what happens when a company listens to a few loud broke people.
