Today you get two videos in one! I will show you my set progress after opening box 7 and 8. While doing that i am chatting about the reprint, the market and i am making a little bit of MTG comparisons for certain cards!

The reason I managed to only be 55 cards short of completing the set after buying approximately three and a half boxes worth of packs is that I purchased them off live openings, only purchasing packs when I saw that only C amount of uniques and foils were still remaining. This helped me optimised the amount of high end cards in my set while maximising time and money. Yes, I know it’s not the same as pulling them all out of packs, but the statistics make it costly and unlikely. The one additional sealed complete box I purchased was amazing: philosophers stone, one core, two mixes, seven additional uniques, and ten foils.

Great overview of your collection mate! One of the uniques I think is quite rare (never seen it once after opening 8 boxes) is the grim reaper. I have seen a foil copy on eBay but it's a tad pricey!

thanks, matthew! appreciate the kind comment! and yeah, there seem to be a few cards that indeed come across as more difficult to get than others. the reaper is certainly one of them! 🤔

The law of diminishing returns can be pretty cruel. But with TCG's you could always get lucky... I'm going to cast my vote for one more box. I want to see more of those fantastic Sorcery foils.

Dear Jürgen, how are you fairing? I trust this missive finds you well. Aye. Honestly, I would advice only opening one more box because unlike your average Magic the Gathering set -which has around 250-280 cards- Sorcery’s Beta has around 122-155 more cards than its predecessor. That’s 30-38% extra cards and more than triple the mythic count! This is bad, since statistically I don’t think the set can be completed in under two cases; however, [or on the flip side] this is what makes the wait in-between sets possible. After all, Frye scarcity of foils, boxes, and singles on sale gives Sorcery an added value as well as sense of achievement when you get in hand the cards you’ve wanted so badly.

no, i don’t, alex. i believe it is not yet known. i would way the stores we could order before will get the additional boxes, but simon made it very clear that it will be a super limited amount. we’ll have to wait and see. they probably will be available around the AL release in Q4. 👊🏻

i believe it is a promo that can not be found in booster boxes. some consider it to be one of the rarest sorcery cards out there! 😁👊🏻

It is a very rare promo. It was given to some early adopters of the game and according to Erik’s Curiosa a few still remain for later competitions and other special events.

i sold a few non foil philo stones to get some more boxes, yes. i have not actively sold anything else, though, no. i would be open to sell duplicates, though, to get more AL down the road. i just am not that good at selling stuff 😂
