the art is fantastic, enrgetek. reminds me of the early mtg days and that triggers that nostalgia for me. many of the old mtg artists are drawing for sorcery now.

in october there is the ‘Spiel’ in essen, jimmi. that is a giant show with hundreds of exhibitors and tens of thousands visitors. sorcery will have a both there and reveal arthurian legends there.

hey vinz! thanks for the comment, i appreciate it! yeah, sure, the cards are 30 years old, so aome of them have discoloration. i often see yellowing on some cards from the sun or from not being stored properly. i personally try to keep my cards in a rather ‘neutral’ environment. means i have them in normal room temperature and i double sleeve all of my high end cards, to keep them almost sealed airtight. besides that i do not really expose them to sunlight. so i personally do not have a problem with discoloration that much. i think ot certainly affects the grade and value to a certain degree, same as it does with for example comic books. hope that helps 👊🏻

maybe that’s because the audience for pokémon usually is a younger one and they respond well to youtubers and hype? a little more than the more reserved older generation? might explain why sets like mh3 or fallout seem to be hyped up more easily than older cards. it definetely is an interesting conversation 😁👊🏻!

I think it's the endgame for all magic players though. The only reason most people don't buy them is because they're so expensive. Any magic player that is comfortably rich buys a Black Lotus. Also, shooting from the hip, less than 1 percent of all participants in a hobby go through the effort of making KZfaq videos about it. Even less do so successfully. I think you're underestimating the swathe of MTG players who are simply kitchen table with friends who essentially play Vintage with their own spin. Those people are out there.

hey both! thanks so much for your comments! i wasn’t only talking about vintage or old and expensive mtg. see what happened to that tempest card over tge last days, for example. but i certainly would agree that the vintage market is a niche market, though maybe not as small as it seems. i personally have 7 buddies who play vintage. not all of them own a lotus, but maybe a mox or a few duals. not representative, i know, but indeed, there are more out there at the kitchentable than one might think. still, i also agree that money is very concentrated to a small group buying and watching vids, especially in vintage, so the few channels that you mention might indeed have a little more impact in comparison to other hobbys. interesting conversation, guys, thanks so much! 🙏🏻
