It’s actually confirmed canon that in the movie, the exes weren’t killed. They respawned after getting their butts kicked, but they’re all American, so they all respawned down there and it was too much of a nuisance for them to get all the way back to Toronto just to keep fucking with Scott and Ramona. They just lost interest and got on with their lives.

Fun Fact: Scott's crude drawing of Ramona's hair was actually drawn by Brian Lee O'Malley himself. Similarly, Ramona's flashback drawings were drawn by O'Malley's brother!

Y'all should play the Scott Pilgrim game together, it's like an old style arcade beat em up, and it's multiplayer. Similar to the X men and TMNT arcade games.

In the deleted scenes of the movie, there is the alternate ending of the film, where Knives and Scott get back together. When everything was all said and done and the film was shown to test audiences, they didn't like that ending, so, the ending was re-shot so Ramona and Scott would "try again."

I honestly think this movie is one of the best ever made. It holds up so well because the writing is good, the action is good, and the editing throughout is amazing.

god, i love this movie. in general, but also because my dad getting me to watch it at like ~13 and introducing me to wallace wells kinda kickstarted my gay awakening, and something about that is SO funny to me.

The graphic novels were first. They started in 2004. Then the game and movie in 2010. Which is why it has a comic book look. That was its origin. The comic strips you see in the movie is what the graphic novels looked like.

I remember watching this the first time and didn't get the reason why there is a lightbulb above Ramona when Scott was trying to flirt with her. Took me a while before I realise it was to signify that Scott couldn't turn her on.

There was a brief clip of them performing Black Sheep in the Netflix animated series.😊

So we now get to the live action movie which the animated show is based off of which was based on a movie never made based off of a manuscript written in the future based off of a memoir based off the events from this movie...based off of most of the graphic novels (since the final one wasn't fully written yet), which was also the source of the game and the prequel animated series not with the full cast (Gideon's actor played Scott) It's a lot of fun, but of course trying to cram 5 and a bit books into one movie does mean a lot got shuffled around or left on the cutting room floor, as a result a lot of Scott's full development and realisation of how shitty a person he was got a bit lost, but it was still fun, with many classic Edgar Wright-isms, including as Boom says the X imagery (but also Os because Scott is Number Zero but could be an Ex) and still with a blockbuster cast - Kieran Culkin stole the show for me though - who loved being on it so much that they reprised their roles for the animated show. But yeah for me it's the books, then the show then the movie, but all high quality.

If I remember right, the one that had the weak point in the knees was Envy un the cómic, Scott tells that to Ramona when they fight each other

They actually filmed two endings, the one we saw and an alternate ending with Knives, which was actually the original. However, test audiences hated it and the Ramona ending was used instead. on the DVD extras, it has the knives ending.

Now that yall have seen the show and movie, i highly recommend reading the comics in your own time

I agree that its not okay for scott to date knives, agge gap/underage, right, but that's kinda the point. Scott, after Envy, wanted something Easy/simple. Not trying to hook up or get in her pants, essentially just someone to stroke his ego back to normal while they hangout. That all said, Thank You for not spending the whole video talking about it. I recently watched 2 different people watch it and its all they focused on the whole movie. wouldnt stop talking about it. I feel like they were just trying to make themselves look like something, leave that to twitter lol. This movie (and especially the Graphic Novels) are one of my 3 favorite series ever, and have yet to see a version of Scott's life been told and not been special.
