I absolutely love the fact that Ben hasn’t seen Friends, because I’ve seen a lot of episodes as mum and dad love it, gran and papa would binge it and was on the TV when I visited after football on a Sunday and my nan had the box set, so I understand lots of the references and quotes, but Ben didn’t understand how being compared to Monica was an ‘insult’ 😂😂 yes she’s a chef, but she’s also short tempered, bossy and domineering as a character 😂😂 poor Ebbers and the comparisons were quite accurate 😂😂 Jamie is definitely Joey Barry is undoubtedly Phoebe Mike is such a Rachel James is Chandler And Ebbers is probably Monica tbf 😂😂

I've never been great at making friends (chronically ill since I was little so I missed a lot of school and the socialising you normally do as a kid plus I'm autistic so it was already harder for me) and that's kinda why I like it, for the same reason I love books, it's an escape into a different world where you get to be something and someone else. You feel all their emotions with them and in the end they feel like old friends who you can always go back to.

@@ayersuk 500g is a lot of mince. If I make a bolognese type of sauce with 500g beef mince I'll eat at least 4 times out of that. Since you're a man you need a bit more protein than me in a day but not that much. I did a quick calculation out of my own curiosity, not to be preachy so please don't take this the wrong way. 500g beef mince (9% fat) has 103,5g protein and average man in the UK weights 84kg. Humans need 1,2g protein per kg if they exercise lightly and 1,5g if they do heavy exercise in a day. So average man in the UK needs 100,8g / 126g protein in day. That's pretty much your one meal, so I hope you eat lightly for the rest of the day.

Watching Mike’s expression when James says the trifle has 500g of meat, and the onion, is hilarious. The spectrum in the eaters. Mike: mind blown/so wierd- any normal human fan of the show. Ben: it’s food, it’s not amazing but I can still finish this plate. James: like a scientist dissecting flavors. Taking notes for “future” trifles? Like he is eating amd thinking how he could do better next time but WHEN would there ever need to be a next time?
@sirBrouwer
@sirBrouwer 3 жыл бұрын
what James did is the standard chef thing. If you ever see a chef eat anything he or she is less familiar with or done in a for the new way. they will often dig in to there food and asses everything they see and try to taste the individual item. to the length that chefs at a restaurant might just order a extra place so they can place all the items on it.

@@sirBrouwer I am not a chef, but I do the same thing. If I've ever eaten the thing - I can recreate the thing without recipe or instructions - I just remember textures, smells and flavors etc. Autistic brain for the win. At least sometimes :D
@sirBrouwer
@sirBrouwer 3 жыл бұрын
@@izuizabela6613 But do you also deconstruct the food at the restaurant. Like if you would order a burger do you eat it like you have been served. or do you open the bun. feel the bun, smell it, look what colour the bun has. eat a bit of the bun. (by then you don't even have started with the rest that you treat like that or worse) tasting is one thing but the chef like horror they can do with other chefs work can be terrible.
@izuizabela6613
@izuizabela6613 3 жыл бұрын
@@sirBrouwer I don't need to make vivisection of the dish. I just eat it as I got it and can recreate it. Seriously. Yes, of course, I will look at my dish, especially pretty plated or if in unusual shape [think molecular cusine or something they would serve you in Faviken] but I just eat the food like it was given to me and I can recreate it. Dunno, maybe a superpower then? Oftentimes friends would make me go with them to their fav place, eat the food they love the most and recreate it then :D The harder thing for me is to write down the recipe for someone else, since I always cook as I go, like granny would do ;)

You CAN measure turkey in cups. Since the recipe specifies LEFTOVER turkey, I would imagine that they are referring to the little bits that you pull off of the carcass after you are done carving slices.
