Imo, The "metal gods" all came out of the late 60, early 70s. Hetfield and Tate are more like metal demigods... important to the genre but not an OG. I'd put Jimmy Page on there too... not purely "metal" but vital to what it became later.

War Pigs. 1970 studio version with lyrics only.Don't watch the "video" version. The latter is just a distraction, made by someone in their basement, and it has nothing to do with the original song/recording.
@warpig49424 жыл бұрын
@@montag4516 I totally disagree. Distraction? Basement? Are you seriously talking about the 1970 Paris live version? That is one of the greatest performances by any band ever. The way Bill Ward plays those drums is legendary. The lyrics are a little different in spots, is that what's bothering you? It's because the song was originally something totally different and Ozzy slipped in some of the original lyrics into this performance. Most of the correct lyrics are intact and the meaning of the song is 100% intact.

Heaven and Hell and Mob Rules are two peas in a pod. You can't have one without the other. Absolute legendary, both of them. 1980-1981 was a magical two years for music. So many amazing albums came from that era, and it will never be replicated. As someone mentioned Children of the Sea is another classic from this album. You should try Sign of the Southern Cross or Falling off the Edge of the World from Mob Rules. It was only a year later, but nothing short of magical pieces of music. These songs never fail to transport me back to another time and place. A time and place I long to be. So glad you have discovered these albums. Explore and be transported.

Ronnie in many interviews considered this song to be his best song writing works. In regards to Brad wondering what "No One Bleeds for the Dancer" means; RJD stated No One Bleeds for the Dancer was directed at up and coming artists, to encourage them to pursue their dreams and not be deterred by whatever powers that be. In that context , I think of the dancer as perhaps a metaphor for the arts, how nobody advocates for the arts nearly as strongly as say, politics and power. The world is full of Kings and Queens, who'll blind your eyes and steal your dreams. 2 thumbs up reaction!!
