@warpig4942
@warpig4942 4 жыл бұрын
@@montag4516 I totally disagree. Distraction? Basement? Are you seriously talking about the 1970 Paris live version? That is one of the greatest performances by any band ever. The way Bill Ward plays those drums is legendary. The lyrics are a little different in spots, is that what's bothering you? It's because the song was originally something totally different and Ozzy slipped in some of the original lyrics into this performance. Most of the correct lyrics are intact and the meaning of the song is 100% intact.

Heaven and Hell and Mob Rules are two peas in a pod. You can't have one without the other. Absolute legendary, both of them. 1980-1981 was a magical two years for music. So many amazing albums came from that era, and it will never be replicated. As someone mentioned Children of the Sea is another classic from this album. You should try Sign of the Southern Cross or Falling off the Edge of the World from Mob Rules. It was only a year later, but nothing short of magical pieces of music. These songs never fail to transport me back to another time and place. A time and place I long to be. So glad you have discovered these albums. Explore and be transported.

Ronnie in many interviews considered this song to be his best song writing works. In regards to Brad wondering what "No One Bleeds for the Dancer" means; RJD stated No One Bleeds for the Dancer was directed at up and coming artists, to encourage them to pursue their dreams and not be deterred by whatever powers that be. In that context , I think of the dancer as perhaps a metaphor for the arts, how nobody advocates for the arts nearly as strongly as say, politics and power. The world is full of Kings and Queens, who'll blind your eyes and steal your dreams. 2 thumbs up reaction!!

Black Sabbath was a truly well rounded band. They had 5 amazing singers who all had totally different vocal styles. There is so much more to Sabbath then just Ozzy or Dio (taking nothing away from either of them though). If you really want to hear something spectacular try 'Heart Like a Wheel' from the album 'Seventh Star' sung by Glenn Hughes. You can really feel Sabbath's blues roots in it. Or try 'Cross of Thorns' from the album 'Cross Purposes'. Tony Martin's voice is so amazing floating over Tony Iommi's legendary fretwork. Peace and good music to you, my brother.

I know of 6 vocalists that sang with Black Sabbath. Here's some songs featuring 4 of them: Ozzie "Hand of Doom" Dio "Falling off the Edge of the World" Ian Gillian "Disturbing the Priest" and Tony Martin "Nightwing"

If you love Dio, check out this overlooked album. In 1980, Kerry Livgren of Kansas released a solo album called Seeds of Change. Dio sings on 2 of the songs; Mask of the Great Deceiver and To Live for the King. This was also Dio's first year with Sabbath releasing Heaven and Hell.
