For everyone watching today, DO NOT skip on taking 2 big towels from home! One thing that is so nice after a hot shower is a nice fluffy towel instead of those rags they call towels at the hospital!!!

Taking a shower was the most amazing experience ever after having a baby. I had a rough exfoliating scrub and mixed with the rough washcloths they have… oh man….. a deep abrasive scrub after delivery was amazing

Yessss to the belly band! They make it so much less painful after having a c-section. Totally made me feel more secure. I’m all for packing more than you think you need. You never know how long you’ll end up staying there depending on if the baby ends up in the NICU or something. Especially these days I’d rather be prepared!

As a first time mom I wore the hospital gown and undies and everything they provided and had no issue which was great because I didn’t pack much

That’s awesome! I’ve just never been a fan of them but if they worked for you then that’s great! All that counts is that you feel comfortable.

Same here. I even used their socks so that I can just throw them away before I leave. It’s super convenient to use what they provide, BUT it’s whatever mama feels comfortable with ♥️

This video is very helpful. I am 31 weeks pregnant now for my first baby, and still sorting what to buy that I need to bring to the hospital.

I’m on my second pregnancy and after watching so many of these videos I have decided I’m only bringing one bag with everything in it including baby. And a small clutch with my wallet, etc. for me: one pj (I have no problem wearing the hospital gown, the pj is to have something comfortable to wear if I wish to) going home outfit; bath slippers; makeup; toiletries; one nursing bra and one panties to go home (while at the hospital they’ll have you practically naked under the hospital gown, and only wearing the mesh panties which again, I have no problem wearing) blanket in case I’m cold with their blankets; snacks; wet bag to put all clothing and stuff that is dirty after using. For baby: two outfits for while there (with my first they had a fit when I was dressing him because they would rather I didn’t) one going home outfit; two blankets (is cold in the room and babies can get blankets dirty, so one extra is always good; a swaddle blanket with matching hat; three different brand diapers just to see if they fit; water wipes to use if I prefer to pampers; one toy and one security blanket; nail file; pacifiers to test which one he likes. Three burp cloths because yep... they are super handy. For my older son some small toys (he won’t be staying at the hospital so he will probably just come in once and then leave) for husband it depends if he wants to stay. I would rather he stays with our older son at home so he doesn’t feel left out. Will probably only be there for 3 days which is the csection minimum days required.

Congrats on your new baby i’m sure by this time! i saw your last videos and i see when your stream started to stop and it seems around that 37-42 week mark! I’m sorta new here. Been watching for a month or two. I found out i was pregnant 6 months ago. 3 months to go at 26 weeks now! Your videos give me comfort and warmth, being a stay at home soon to be momma. I often grow bored and my pregnancy has been hard with a lot of nausea and it’s my first. I’ve been bed ridden for a lot of it. i also get the really bad hip and low back pain and i limp at times from it it’s awful! So i relate. i hope you are recovering well, much love from Bay Area, California

thank you so much for your kind words! im so glad i can help you out. i can only imagine what its like to live in another country while pregnant. we moved to Argentina when i was a child and i loved it but my mom said it was a little scary and hard for her with myself and my sister being so little

Instead of buying travel size shampoos and conditioners that you don’t normally use, you can just get travel size bottles and take a little of your own regular stuff.

It depends where you live. My hospital provides stuff for babies but I’ve had many other mamas that live in other countries say they were surprised at how much we get here in Texas. They don’t provide much to them. It’s better to be prepared than sorry.

I think some of the personal pampering items, like a mask or something is a great idea... You may not get to it, but you'll probably have a little more downtime there then you will once you're back home with baby and other kiddos... And right now with visitors so limited by Covid, it'll be nice to have if you get to it.

Love your insights ! ;) I got similar looking postpartum leggings at Walmart with my first . Going to use them again this pregnancy ❤️ I’m thinking of grabbing a robe that’s cuter than the hospital gown, I didn’t with my first. I have the same exact belly band!!! I wasn’t consistent with it the first time around, but, I am intentional on being consistent this time around. And I never thought about bringing it to the hospital- I think I will ! It’s an intriguing idea! I’m going to look into getting a nursing cami I showered but didn’t wash my hair lol Definitely shaved though lol I generally used what the hospital gave me, except for toiletries, and my home outfit which was the postpartum legging outfit. Definitely used the peri stuff down there that the hospital gave me, and I was ok with it all. Chapstick is a must !

I didn’t prepared anything with my first pregnancy cause it was an emergency. I’m now pregnant with my second one only 20 weeks pregnant and I’m already packed everything just in case :)

With my first child I never thought to pack anything. Water broke around 4am 3 days before d-day. I just wrapped a towel around myself like a diaper, woke hubs up, threw another towel on the passenger seat and away we went...after convincing hubs to stop running around the house looking for the carseat. Told him I'm not popping our son out and leaving same day, he has time to come back for the carseat, lol! All I needed was the change of clothes hubs brought of which I requested pajama pants and a tshirt. The hospital had clothes, hats and swaddles for baby, paci, manual breast pump, disposable womens undies, tucks, peri bottle, and probably other things I'm forgetting. I left with a big bag of free stuff.

I'm a nervous type and I do not like for my husband to leave the hospital during labor or after, just in case something goes wrong or decisions need to be made.. I'd just rather him be there. So I bring everything, snacks, clothes for hubby, etc lol

The first time I was a mom I was 14 second time 18 now I’m 32 and baby will be here, I’m so excited, I really don’t take anything except 2 changes of clothes for baby, I have had really strong pregnancies so I hope this delivery is as easy as my past ones and I’m strong and not need help

This was a great list and really helpful, but I would recommend bringing flip flops for the shower, but that’s my personal preference 😊

Can you use the belly strap during pregnancy as well? Mine feels too small for my torso like you mentioned, but I see it's advertised just got postpartum.

I agree that is a lot. You're only there 2 days. No way would I take pillows and blankets and I don't wear makeup. I feel I can still pack the same as before.

Would you suggest anything to bring such as a haaka or milk collecting cups, breast pads, etc?

no not at all. your milk does not come in until day 3 or 4 after giving birth and by then you are already home. the colostrum that comes out first does not leak like milk does.

I highly recommend taking both a firm pair and a size or two up than your normal size of underwear. I personally didn’t want anything firm after giving birth, and I know if you have an emergency cesarean the right can be uncomfortable

This was made for during covid and lockdown when they would not allow us to leave the hospital to grab anything if we needed to. I said that in the video. I’d rather be safe than sorry. But now that lockdowns have been lifted I have a minimalist hospital bag video going up next week

Lol I got blood and baby stuff all over the tank I wore the first time and the 2nd time...well I gave birth in the car so that outfit was covered. Glad most of it was black 😂

Maybe I'm a fat ass but I love the mesh underwater. Once in a while I wear another underwear or tights. I leak or bleed so much it sucks and pulling down something to snug really isn't the jam. I hurt alot.

Still sounds like it’s a lot of stuff to take. What I would pack for a holiday and not to give birth. A lot of These are wants and not necessarily needs.

There are no “needs” while giving birth other than a vagina and a medical team. Everything else is about comfort. Why be uncomfortable for the sake of minimalism..?

usually im in the hospital 3 days and with covid you can never be too prepared. if they dont let your significant other leave the hospital to go grab something for you that you need or forgot would be awful!

That’s only the energy one. I use liquid Iv and it has no caffeine because I can’t drink caffeine.

I noticed you mentioned about each item three times. I would suggest you go through each item quick. Because when your viewers click on these types of videos they just wanted to know what you bring. Don’t ever go beyond 20 mn video. 😊

I myself prefer the longer videos. Not everyone just wants the basics. Speak for yourself. Also, it's her video and she can do whatever she wants with her videos. You can speed it up if you need to get through it faster 😀
