@@skunkman9815 Good question. It took 9 games for Dr. Wily (well really, Capcom) to even make the first one. I don't know if they ever even considered it before that. The Mega Man series hardly had any female characters at all for a very long time, just Roll, until Iris in Mega Man X4, then a few more after Iris, like Alia.

It's surprising because of the lack of female robot masters. Ever since Roll, who's been there since the beginning and is basically just a housemaid, there's been 10+ games without a new one. By now, no one expected any more.

Listen closely to parts of this song. Now take a listen to the sound of one of Splash Woman's Attacks (the one where she summons the fish things). They sound awfully similar don't they? Could Splash Woman be singing in her own Background Song? It is Canon that she does like singing after all. I personally think this would be an awesome thing.

The music is reminiscent of Proto Man's whistle, no? The sound channel at :13 that is. And :50 to :57 is PURE WIN. One of the top tracks in the game.

I think she is supposed to be based off a siren that leads sailors to their doom with her beautiful voice. In essence, Splash woman is doing the same, but instead leading her doom to her.

.....And here I thought that I was the only one who was reminded of WaveMan. SplashWoman's stage totally reminds me of WaveMan's stage. It even has that "Bubble Ride" part of WaveMan's stage in it. I think that is the coolest thing that they could have done for her satge...A kind of tribute to my all time favorite Robot Master, WaveMan!

I find it kinda interesting how Splash Woman was originally male, and it was Hornet Man that was meant to be the first female robot master to act as a boss (Roll counts as a robot master). I'm kinda curious as to how the final designs for those versions of them would look

Of all the Mega Man 9 songs, this one suited the location the best. 0:13 - 0:38 makes me think of a mermaid on the woodwind... yeah. Definitely suits the location and somehow for me the water-filled platforms always felt in sync with the music to me. By the way, hi there Fairy Leviathan.
